    I got a basic website made for me and I'm trying to add content etc myself. If you could review it for me and tell me what else it needs that would be great.

    Anyone able to give me any pointers, do I need more content on my homepage to get it noticed by google?

    Yep, there's very little homepage content in text giving little SEO juice. There's no reason why the slider content couldn't be text and some keywords employed. I'm not a fan of sliders on homepages as they just don't perform well in my experience.

    Your site title is 'laois' which isn't up to much SEO-wise. That would be better as some thing along the lines of 'Painter in the Laois Region'. Some alt attributes for img tags are missing. Headings are not being used correctly.

    About
    This page is written with too much 'I' in it. That makes it read like a bad chat up when you would be better using more 'you' and 'waht I can do for you' type phrasing.

    My Works
    No alts being used again and try to caption your photos.

    Contact
    Email address is not a mailto link and phone number isn't using the tel protocol which enables click and call on mobile devices.

    In general: use more text with keywords (don't overdo, keep it natural); make sure your G+ is properly integrated with Google Business and your website; contact details in the footer on all pages;

    Think I have it sorted, I've just noticed that when I access my site on my phone it won't open up the contact page, saying not found, any idea's what I can try.

    tricky D pretty much covers it, so I'll just make a note of one thing that might be of use:

    On the homepage slider you're hiding some interesting content that would be pertinent to anyone interested in your services, which is offering the free quote. The homepage might be better served by removing the slider, and combining the content of both slides into one item.

    Looks great beyond all that, and the best of luck!
