Laptop gone blank over reverting back to Windows 8

I gave windows 10 a try for a few weeks and now in recovery setting I pressed the option to go back l to Windows 8.1 and after doing it my laptop is now completely blank when I turn it on on see the mouse pointer Anyone any ideas whats gone on here or how to fix it?
