and you think it would at least have had a vacuum before taking the photos too. Seats are full of crumbs and stains, and the drivers side is badly worn.

I came over all itchy looking at that drivers seat. It's amazing what some people consider to be in 'great condition'. It's fuggin' mankey.

Cheap and reliable motoring with 7 months NCT for €250. Full service history allegedly, and a new exhaust. I suppose it's age and that 1600cc engine aren't doing it any favours for a sale but there must be someone out there for this.

That civic has been up a while think it started at 350 or 400. Tbf it looks very clean a side from the marked rear arch. The fact it'd be tough insure and it's in the 1.6 tax bracket must be putting buyers off. Hard get better reliability for the money though so it'll surely sell at that

Great cars and for that money you can't really go wrong. For that kind of money the 1.6 engine wouldn't bother me one bit.

If you were spending more though the 1.5 is a better bet as it offers similar performance but is 100 cheaper to tax per year.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Only in Ireland can you get a half decent, reliable, tested car for €200

I wonder what a similar car would be worth in France. First guess is about €1,500 - €2,000

I't might be difficult due to it's age but I wouldn't say impossible.

Very nicely spec'ed family car, tax for a few months and test until next year. Always a good sign when you see protective mats over the original floor mats! €1500

Been for sale nearly 4 months - its time for him to either start listening to offers or use that petrol...

I wonder how many have actually taken the time to look at it.

What are they like for mpg?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,079 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

I couldn't tell you tbh - what kind of driving do you do?

They're bloody lovely cars though. On my radar but not realistic for a few years yet. Doesn't stop me from checking DD quite regularly for "the one" - and its very very seldom that a nice looking non-manual, not-silver example like that comes up for sale.

    Seriously?

Just like any other large automatic petrol car of its generation. About 20mpg around Dublin. Up to 30mpg or even more on longer spins.

Shameless plug for my cousins yoke. I got her this as her first car. It's got learner driver written all over it, but it's rust free and always got it's oil changed on time. Tested until July '17, few days tax too.

Edit the car details to reflect new NCT and update the relevant photo too. Photo without child seat would help also.

Best of luck selling it, but I'd say it'll move for you now, looks decent.

Taxed (just), tested and screaming out for a set of Ti alloys. Love the interior too. Is it just me though or is the passenger door a different shade of silver?

That is such a lovely interior. The wooden steering wheel can look a bit odd, but with that beige leather its class. Great find.

edit: Is rear tailgate out of alignment?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,604 ✭✭✭crasy dash

I'd have to agree definitely different colour on the passenger doors can see it in pictures three and four in the ad

    Beautiful interior though!!!

It looks like they all have some kind of odd lip at the end of the tailgate. Never noticed it before myself, if thats what you're talking about?

Look at the left hand rear tail light on the tailgate, the top of it doesn't seem to line up with the tail light on the rear quarter.
