That Polo looks really good value though.

No it ain't unless you are the seller maybe?

Nothing to do with me. Maybe you should head back to conspiracy theories;)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,570 ✭✭✭The Sidewards Man

    Ok ;)

Anyway Bois, if you're looking for a cheap low mile runaround with a decent test, in MY opinion that Polo is worth a look at. I'm sure rhough mr sidewards with his vast experience will explain the opposite. Otherwise as said already, keep an eye on this thread, some right bargains pop up.

That polo is not worth a look in, I never claimed I have vast experience. Don't be saying things now.

Unless you know the car, that is merely your opinion.

Such passion for a chicken chaser.

Whenever I come across someone like you, I always think of a marvellous quote from George Carlin.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Steering wheel looks well worn on that Polo for 93K miles ....

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,152 ✭✭✭26000 Elephants

Polo was supplied by Divanes in Castleisland and is being sold locally. There is every chance that it has low miles. The carpet, seats and general look of the car suggest less than stratospheric miles.

You dont know until you go and see it and get the back story.

So much ****e over a fecking Polo.

Just looking for second opinions from people who know more about cars than I do really! Sorry if this is wrong thread.
I've been watching this thread for a while now, always some interesting ones, but never too many down my neck of the woods! Thanks for the advice, appreciate it! :)

Have a look here: https://www.carsireland.ie/county/kerry You'll get an idea what's going in The Kingdom. This 2001 Toyota Corolla for example for €2,000 with NCT till April 2017 in Killorglin.

    Shameless plug.

Grand car but have upgraded to shiny 2016.

on that corolla - some people are just mean with money. It is a battery smaller than what comes with the car originally and a bit of wood put in between the bracket and the battery to make it fit.

That is horrendously overpriced. €2000 would buy a newer shape Corolla with the same amount of NCT

That is a cheap car considering the tax and test!

Slow to start on cold mornings. Maybe it just needs a battery? Did you try?

Maybe... I tried a search in Kerry only for Brois. I just picked a Corolla an an example. There were 7... That was the cheapest. Next one up was a 2003 for €3,300.

..... or a fresh set of plugs can work wonders for the cold start.

same battery works fine rest of time, just when its cold.

maybe it is the plugs. Was thinking possible corrosion on an earth cable or the battery connections. I was going to sort it but now I'm selling...

A stupid price tbh, anyone who buys at that price will be ripped off. I didn't know a powerhose could at least double the value of something. Judging by the drivers seat the ''unspecified'' mileage is up there. The bodywork isn't great... And being a south kerry car I would expect a lot of things to be worn out,or borderline worn out.

I thought it was in Killorglin ?

Bought 2 of them about 3 weeks ago. One a '03 5 door for €1300 and the other an immaculate '03 3 door for €1400. Both tested til 04/17 so 2k for an old model liftback is big bucks

Which is in South Kerry. I'd imagine that corolla had a tough life on country boreens.

Two grand, which is strong money in bangernomics terms. A 05 Jag with NCT 5/17 though, I think that is fairly reasonable. This one looks spotless too. Nice spec which is rare for a 2.1
