I'm probably getting around 30/32 mpg from it, and that's with a light enough foot, and that's ok tbh.
It's a lovely car to drive, makes me realise the tripe I've been driving since I gave up the last C5.

Off topic, but I have a '05 MK1 TT (1.8T petrol) with ~138k miles on it. It's in good nick and service history is fine. Any idea of a ballpark amount I might get for it?

Got it cheap off my mom (:o) so I'm none the wiser, and there isn't a great selection online to compare against.

Also showing a recent battery disconnection due to the clock not being set yet. A sign of trying to hide some warning lights I reckon.

There is a neat little trick on the E46 that will show you if all the dash lights are present and working.

Long 13 month NCT 08/17, €2150, so should come in at Bangernomics prce. 2.0 Auto, for a nice usable summer and winter cruiser. Classic insurance should be possible.

Had a look at this. The interior is very rough. Zero effort made to given inside a quick clean. Would make me worry. Drivers side damage paint work is only a keying and isnt too bad.

I hate that phrase in car ads "good clean car" it means nothing to me. I always view it as a sign of someone being economical with the truth.

2 months tax on it as well. Assuming there's no rust it is a good car for someone after a cruiser. I love that colour on a merc.

Yup, says the car was garaged too. Good find. Rare to get such a healthy low mileage example

Usually goes along with 'never needed anything' which I take to mean 'I never did anything, now needs everything'

Looks like a good car. I sold something similar recently and got no interest at all until I spotlighted the ad. I could have sold it five times within 2 days once I did that so might be worth a try. Good luck with the sale.

Worth every penny of your asking price i'd say,was looking for one of those this time last year and they were at least a grand more :(

Ended up with a boring avensis instead :(:(

I started at 2000e which I thought was fair.. but I've dropped the price twice in the last 3 weeks.
I replaced it with an avensis.. which I'm pleasantly surprised how well it drives and how refined it is.

Could be something to do with the holiday season, with people going off / coming back, too busy to look after buying a new car. I'd hold on for your price maybe spotlight the ad as recommended by another poster...

That's a better car than what I sold for the same money, mine had double the mileage. Don't give it away whatever you do.

Definitely spotlight the ad, I'd up the price a little first and then hold out for €1500. It's definitely worth that. Maybe mention when the timing belt is due too.

As above, July and August are very quiet on all fronts in this country. I'd not lose heart.

I would put the price back up. At the moment, it's underpriced and that can set off alarm bells for some people if it looks too good to be true. It would for me, considering other cars like it but with higher mileage are on sale for (a lot) more.

That's not really The Issue with LPG powered Subaru...

LPG produces higher combustion temperature than petrol. While this generally is not an issue to the pistons/cylinders, the valves need to be properly closing, otherwise the head will go in short time. In many cars the valves are hydraulically self-regulated, but Subaru opted for old-school mechanical regulation and need to be periodically regulated.

This is really PITA to do, the garages typically remove engine from the car to do it - and while on petrol the interval is sensibile, on LPG it really is much more frequent job (~40-50kkm), which renders the whole LPG operation completely insensible.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

I wouldn't let that bother me too much if I was serious about the car. I'd say 15 minutes to check all 4 wheels for a faulty bearing and after a quick test drive you would have a good idea about it. It's being given away for next to nothing.

Edit: Just read Grogi's post on the lpg thing, now not so sure if that would be a problem or not.. :o
