The C5 is a saloon. Should be fine if it's a reasonable sized Estate.

Have we had this? 2.0 manual NCT 7/17 for €1500 - my favourite colour combination for these too

E12 Corolla with NCT to 2/17 at €1195 is cheap. I'd go in with my eyes wide open, but if everything is above board this is fairly cheap!

Last one out of me..facelift '05 S60 with new NCT to 4/17 for €1150. I'd say you'd get this for a grand, and that is in my opinion a lot of car for the money

That Volvo just screams pure class. 180 horses is a respectable figure, and with a manual box its probably a decent drive as well.

    great find.

Bonus points: reg hide fail of the week....

Always check if the cruise control works in the s60, there is a control module that costs €900 to replace. It also puts up a warning light which is an nct fail. This one looks OK with the long nct, but if anyone is test driving one and serious about a purchase, it's a serious bargaining chip.
In fact, they could have remedied it in late 03/04, not sure. The S80 didn't suffer this, only the s60 and v60 AFAIK

The S40 suffered a similar issue with a brake control module displaying ABS sensor faults. Was over a grand to rectify I believe. That S60 is a very nice car though.

Surely a cruise control warning light is not an NCT fail?

Really like this it's an oddity but looks well minded.
Test march17 tax end of sept16
Service history & Recent belt change too
Change of gearbox oil might sort reverse issue.
Asking €550 I'd wager €400 would bring it maybe less.
Be a grand winter run about shur we might get snow

Hi guys, got a 2004 Rover Streetwise hatchback 1.4 and during a routine check, mechanic told me I'd be looking at >1000 repairs that exceed the value of the car so I'm thinking to get another used car. Paid 1800 two years ago, to which I added 1000 shortly after purchase in repairs (that would teach me not having it checked by a mechanic before buying second hand and also buying a brand where you can hardly get any new parts).
Long story short, any suggestions for a similar car max 1.4L and a reputable brand like Toyota or Nissan in the Dublin area?

Buying a Rover Streetwise wasn't very "Streetwise" :D Plenty of Corolla's and Yaris's out there for what was your budget 2 yrs ago.

Sorry no, a warning light is displayed on the dash, I can't remember what it is, some brake or abs warning light, but the same control module controls both this warning light and the cc, so an easy test is to test the cruise, if it's not working...
    Well, that's it

If the claims in the ad are true, that is one hell of a deal. Classic car in waiting for sure.

Really can't see the standard car becoming a classic. 75s with the old school twin can engine and beloved by every Alfa nut are still changing hands for feck all.
Perhaps if the 156 there had a busso in it, then it might stand a chance of becoming a classic, mainly because so few are left, but a jts 156?
Really can't see it happening. The engine is hated by the majority of Alfa nuts

That all being said, they do handle fantastically when the suspension ain't fecked and the steering is fantastic so a nice car to drive around in alright

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,812 ✭✭✭✭bear1

The funny thing about the jts is that you never knew what the actual bhp of the car was :D
Some were dynoing them and getting less than 155 whereas others were getting more than stated :P
Id love to have my one back again :(
