    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Bought last night:

    395111.jpg

Factory sports suspension, very clean, cream leather - no tears. 3 keys, guts of 3 months tax, NCT end of May '17, auto aircon, park distance control, everything works, but aircon needs refill. Tight as a nut to drive - zero squeaks or rattles. These cars with the sports suspension have a brilliant chassis and are truly sheer driving pleasure. €800.

Working for me now. Nice colour, and a nice car for the money too.

So is it a better drive than the TT then? Or just more practical?

Best of luck and keep us updated, B00056718!

Sounds like sending a special agent on a mission. The result of being too lazy to come up with a proper username.

Just had a look at a Focus in Blanch. A bit rough with pieces of trim missing etc. but running Ok.

What a pity, such a good looking car, less than 10 years old, but so neglected that it's practically worthless now

Alfas are like abused hounds. No matter how bad people have been to them in the past, show a little love and they will bounce right back.

Hammer the dealer on those points, get them sorted privately and it will be a fine car.

Practicality is of not much concern :D

It's a very different drive. TT drives like it is on rails, can't fault it at all. It's pretty damn fast when you keep the turbo at enough boost - full torque is from 1,900 rpm.

The E46 coupe is a bit more old skool. Rear wheel drive, not fast, but a pleasure to drive, the chassis with the sports suspension is just superb. And I'm getting a bit old skool myself at this stage :o

That E46 looks like great value. What kind of mileage is on it.

Just gone 115k miles today. Had aircon regassed by the lads in Park West (see bargain alerts thread), so blowing ice cold now. Put in new pollen filter and car will have full valet next week. Tyres all good, 2 premium tyres (different makes), but also 2 Chinese tyres, so will replace them at some point for part worn premiums. Needs nothing else.

Yep. Someone is trying to save themselves a fiver by recycling their old ad, so it seems.

That Transit was there when I was test driving the BMW.
Had a look at a diesel 307 today that was very tired.

Trying to see an MR2 but the girl has been a bit of a handful so far. Will I regret it? I know you can hardly fit a laptop in the boot anyway.

307 cc auto with factory sat nav. I find myself strangely attracted to it. Got it to 1700€ by a text. What are those engines like? Is the autobox any use?

Nah. Just mood swings. I can be slightly eccentric sometimes.

What are these like? Tax accounted for makes the car like 300 quid. Few shades off on drivers door though

So I'm not going to make any bold statements but I was offered a very similar car some months back (I remember it had a lot of tax which made it appealing) needing an engine, and it was very cheap.

    I wonder..... :pac:

Give the engine a good once over they're the 1zzfe which burned oil but that said the batch of bad ones are either dead by now or were fixed under goodwill/warranty. They are an amazing car to handle and nippy given their weight. the six speed manual is the one to go for as it suits the engines power delivery best also look out for timing chain rattle and intake rattle. Not sure how the'd be on insurance either.

Thanks. I'm yet to get to see the car despite her living 5 minutes away from me.

    The first call was

    Me: Hi. How are you?
    Her: Who's this?
Me: Do you still have the car for sale?
    Her: I'll ring you back.
    And hang up.

Were making a small progress though. DoneDeal messaging so far only.

    It's a fairly female car :D
Whenever I see one now I always think of the TG episode where JC and JM buy two Peugeots and drive around :)

Yeah. That was my feminine side out. Don't even consider it anymore. There's a black TT in Wexford and she'll take 1800€. Less tax and more fun. And it's cool.

TT? Talk to Unkel, he has his for sale and it was listed a few pages back.
    You're welcome unkel :D

Unless he'll take 'nomics money for it?!? ;)

No. Unkel's one is well outside my budget.

A very nice Stilo here but it's in Ennis. Can only happen at the weekend.
