I was doing 130km round trip in a Modus for a while, nothing wrong with it as it's not a loud car, you can chat at 120km/h in the car.

The Panda is the cheapest to run over that time, so it depends on your needs and budget. He's doing 450km per week, which is a 45 km commute each way, which isn't really a lot.

The Panda is a quiet car, has great visibility but very limited legroom for the driver which could be a problem on longer journeys.

Bar a couple of scuffs on the rear bumper I don't see a whole lot wrong with this. If the work the seller is laying claim to has actually been done, this is nowa bargain at €1650 with NCT to 12/18.

I got an insurance quote on that for shits and giggles expecting it to be phone numbers - €520 TPFT  I'd probably snap that up if I was in the market ffor something new.

They are meant to be oil and petrol guzzlers but an extremely fun car to drive. I could easily justify it on my paltry <5000mls per year

I'm doing 45km to work each way in a 1.1 Panda. It's not bad in fairness. Yes it could be a little more comfortable but it cost me €1500 and a fuel tank of fuel which lasts a week is about €40.

Maybe if you're quite tall but at 5ft 10" I find there's plenty of space.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

That is a very decent deal. I'm surprised it wasn't sold already. Can't see it being a problem to get insurance on it, even for a younger lad with only a few years NCB.

Anyway good luck with the sale!

    Not sub 2K. Fail.
In any case, the price is nothing special for the year.
116K on a 1.1? Will be tired and ready for the head gasket to go.
They sell at auctions for 1500 on '06 and traders move them on at 2K.
Clio's are a slow mover though hence the low price.
Everyone is hungry for the 1.6 TDI Golfs '08 for the 200 Euro tax.
Fastest selling car on Donedeal. I have never had one more than 2 weeks before its turned over at easy profit.

    Find me a working €2k diesel 08 Golf for €2k :)

The consensus in here is that if it is likely that the car can be bought for €2k (despite a higher asking price), the car belongs in here.

Where did I say one could?
I was clarifying that an '06 Clio for 2.2K isn't in demand (hence why its cheap).
And comparing it to what is in demand; '08 Golf's.
It says a lot about you that I need to break it down to this level for you to get my point.
My 6 year old gets it. No one wants Clio's, everyone wants Golf's.
I really can't break it down to a lower level for you.
Mind you, my mother always taught me not to mock the afflicted, so I wont.

Well that is fair enough I suppose.
Knocking 10% off the asking price of a car is realistic.
Interesting price limit these days, lot of cars around that 2K mark.
The cheaper motor tax on post '08 models has really killed off a lot of the 1.9 and 2.0 litre cars.
I have seen Passat and A4 prices really take a hammering in particular.
Last week locally I saw an '05 2.0 A4 sell for 2K down from 2.3K for example.

    Apologies, I stand corrected.

It's strange to say this but the Nubira isn't really worth more than €100. I'd say she'll probably accept that as an offer. If anyone in here is going for it, please, please check with your insurance first. It might be a problem.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,455 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

It was posted more for the novelty value than anything else. I remember Daewoos big relaunch in 20 years ago with the Lanos, Nubira and Leganza. Before that they were selling reheated Opel Kadetts.

Although the car is ****e, the description makes it sound great.
I wouldn't have the heart to take it off Mother Cecilia though.
I wonder does it come with the following optional extras?
Rosary beads hanging from the interior mirror.
    Padre Pio windscreen sticker.
A dog is for life not just for Christmas sticker.
Tartan picnic blanket and Tefal flask.
    Nokia 3210 for emergencies.
I am tempted just to give her 300 and tell her to get her timer belt done.

She probably bought an 08 diesel Golf instead?

Were you at the main dealer for the big launch?
Did you get the dealer principal to autograph your sales brochure?
20 years ago, 1997 in the Celtic Tiger boom.
You really let yourself run wild eh you old fox..
Don't tell me, you got carried away in the Argos sale that year and bought a new Sekonda.

I lived in the states in the mid '90s and a girlfriend had one of those kadett things. Except it was a pontiac. Lemans maybe. Looked gas with whitewall tyres.

Best selling car on Donedeal last year.
Will be best selling car this year too.
Ireland loves the 1.6 diesel '08 onward Golf.
200 Euro tax even makes Cecilia moist.
I can't complain, turning them over made me profit last year.
My phone was red hot even for lunar mileage ones.

Yeah, I was in Romania a few years ago and there were loads of them over there too. They were called Cielo. Think they were the same as what were sold in the uk (don't think there were daewoo dealers here before 97. There was one near us in Limerick where Tesco Coonagh is now I think.

Nah, I wasn't old enough to legally drive in 97. Bought a Punto Sporting as soon as I was though.

Empty vessels make the most noise.

The 1.6 tdi unit wasn't available in the 2008 Golf.
