I don't disagree on it's bangernomics credentials just don't expect a rust free car because of a cert in the windscreen. Inspecting the car is the only way to determine that.

Very true however a man would be safe enough expecting that there won't be a sizeable hole in the rear arch because of the test.

She looks ok, but the nct do miss stuff.

My Puma had rust issues, they didn't find it all though look at the picture attached, inside the wheel arch.

If it kept going until February would owe you nothing

Does the wing look different as well?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭Four Phucs Ache

Yep and the black frame of the drivers door doesn't match so the whole door was replaced.

    MX 5 sold

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    MX 5 sold

That was far too cheap. New owner probably got it for 800-900. He'll be laughing all the way home :D

Wonder if that mx was the real deal...

I seen it and was actually going to go see it but I only seen it posted up an hour after.

Need a cheap car to get by with nct for a bit.

You could do a lot worse than a cheap tested MX-5 at the start of the summer. At 800 you would have made a profit selling that even at the start of next winter!

    I would think it wasn't.

Could someone run a cartell on it, just for pig iron

Yes the reg is genuine. So is the NCT. And it is taxed until 2018

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,647 ✭✭✭✭punisher5112

Possible scam???? Didn't get to see ad only photo on here.

The cheapest 2006 MX5 on Donedeal besides is asking €5,750. It doesn't appear to have any tax on it. No way is the one asking €1k is a genuine bona fide ad... I've being around long enough to know. If you forced me to guess I would say it was somebody putting up a friends beloved car for a silly asking price for a laugh.

The ad was a bit funny

'' Selling for me Ma '' was mentioned if I remember correctly. Something along those lines.

It was a girls name selling it, so pretty clueless to the fact it was too cheap or not a real ad. Looked real, novice seller maybe.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,479 ✭✭✭Kamili

It had to have been a joke to get a flood of calls to an unsuspecting punter's phone. Just cos it was a girl's name associated with it, doesn't mean they were clueless either.

Having seen the screenshot, its for sure a set up.

I know it's a bit above the 2k figure of this thread but still worth a mention:

<€3250 is not sub2k, please stick with the sub2k in the future>

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,647 ✭✭✭✭punisher5112

Seems to be a serious rust issue on a lot of 06 ones so might be OK on it but something to consider down the line.

It ran out of NCT 8 years ago. I wouldn't even bother ringing him tbh. Chancer.

    Not bangernomics.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,812 ✭✭✭✭bear1

Unreal that that is a 25 year old car. Credit to the owner, would I be right in saying those aren't the original alloys?

To take a guess I reckon those pictures were taking a few years ago. For one it has no NCT so I'd say it was parked up for quite some time.

    re Eunos:

1: Check that you can insure it, getting harder and harder even for 50+ female, full no claims and 6 year owner.
2: Put an alarm on it, targeted easy car to steal for joyriding.
