What is the legality in minors (under18) signing up for littlewoods and getting stuff on credit?

Family member fosters. Foster child (16) got stuff from littlewoods just giving a false DOB. Now they owe 400. Do they not do checks on who they're giving credit too?

In short, a minor cannot enter into a credit agreement, though Littlewoods cannot be found to be at any civil or criminal blame since the minor misrepresented himself.

Basic process here is that the credit agreement is annulled (i.e. no interest payable), and the goods must be returned intact and undamaged. The guardian(s) of the child are liable for the cost of any goods that are lost or no longer in saleable condition.

But there's a good chance in any case that once the goods are returned in any condition, littlewoods will just write it off. They build a premium into their credit business to account for these kinds of things.

at 40% interest, plenty of premium built in to littlewoods for errors that their systems allow.

Just write bto them stating age and that a credit contract can;t be entered into wtha mo=inor and that you would have expected a little more checking than just a random DOB being entered.

But then, that's how little wood make money - they entice you to enter details and buy stuff on easy credit, but deep in the T&c's is the fact of a 39.9% interest rate - that's near moneylender rates!
