I need to defer or withdraw a year. What do I do?

I'm a first year student at DIT. Due to unforseen circumstances I have to take the year out or otherwise withdraw. I've talked to my head of my course and she told me to fill out a form but after that I don't know what to do exactly. Can someone please help me? I'm really confused.

You will need to get them approved

Dont panic...you have plenty of time to do this

Call into your Students Union or your local Student Service Centre if you are confused

yeah...plenty of time to do it too as you have until 31st October to do it

make sure you make sure of any DIT resources you need before you defer/withdraw and consider all your options
