Administrative Officer 2015 open competition

Normally you get a break down of marks in each segment, are we not to expect that for this competition?

So i'm now prematurely imagining my new job...(hopeful but still further down the panel than I'd like for safety...)

Is this new payscale correct? Didn't realise starting salaries were being reduced...

In the information about the position it states starting salary is 29,992. Don't know if i could go below that! Though at 103 god only knows if I will even get the opportunity

Does anyone know if PAS got in touch with current employers before forming the panel? I wasn't sure if that was going to be before or after.

No they only get in touch when you are called on the panel. Thank god otherwise life would be very awkward!

Anyone else think a figure of 150 jobs sounds about right? Just basing this on the announcement of 200 jobs across:

•Administrative Officer in the Civil Service;
• Graduate Economist with the Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service;
• Trainee Auditor in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General;
• Junior Diplomat/Third Secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs;
• Legal Researchers a while back.

I'm guessing ao will be the majority.

I was thinking about at least 120 so the same ballpark really. And realistically to fill 120 posts they will probably need to call at least 160/170. Of course though this will be across the life of the panel as requests come in in dribs and drabs.

Has anyone got an email address to ask for marking feedback. I'm intrigued because I thought I had definitely failed the presentation! but it appears not!

Its hard to call- given the embargo has just been lifted- and graduate recruitment is encompassing significant recruitment other than at AO grade (EO grade for example). If AO was the defined graduate entry into the civil service- I'd actually hazard that 220-250 was on the low side given the ending of the embargo- however, as its now sweeping up EOs and indeed APs- it may even be on the high side......... Time will tell.

They will be sending marking feedback on according to an email I received today.

Is that the Eos for revenue? I think that is separate to the 200 mentioned (Could be wrong though!). Agreed, its tricky to estimate at the moment. Was it 250 interviewed for ao?

EO is defacto graduate recruitment nowadays (which is tacitly admitted- by EO recruitment coming under the Graduate Recruitment Unit- and not the general PAS recruitment sections). Its across the board- its not just the Revenue Sections. Apparently some Departments have been rather cheeky- seeking EOs with specific qualifications- akin the manner in which they used try get specialised staff in via the AO grade- in essence- they are now looking for the qualifications and skills in EOs that were once considered to be the desirable attributes for an AO........ Anyhow- we digress........

I requested the feedback. They gave qualifying score and score achieved for interview presentation and job simulation. The maths or verbal were not counted in the placing - they just verified against your on-line result.

I had to request it. As Whizzgirl said they sent out the minimum qualifying score and your score but not the maximum! I have requested that from them after I realised I read the results wrong lol! Actually did ok in the presentation

Given the lack of activity here recently I'm guessing everyone is in the same boat and there's been no announcement of how many positions there'll be.

The feedback from the assessment day was very interesting, in particular the comments from the interview panel. Coming out I didn't really know how I did so seeing their thoughts was enlightening.

Revised pay with effect from 1 January 2016 for General Service Grades who were
appointed on or after the 6th April 1995 paying the Class A rate of PRSI
contribution and making an employee contribution in respect of personal
