    Hi all,
I'm currently studying medicine in UCD and was recently thinking about what I may like to specialise in, following my degree. Given my strong interest in sports, this might be the path for me? There is an SpR programme in the UK. My very loose understanding (have a mate trying to get onto it) is that you need to have done medicine/ED/GP and have the relevant membership exams (MRCP/MCEM/MRCGP or MICGP) before getting on to it; think it's a 4 year programme.

Worth looking up the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine webpages in both Ireland and the UK. Would also suggest getting in touch with some people involved in the specialty, Santry would be a good start.

Are there doctors/consultants who specialise in sports related medicine?
