really dark natural hair but ridiculously pale skin with really red cheeks
What's weird about that? Very typical Irish colouring I'd have thought.

Everyone over estimates how good looking they are. It's natural instinct to think you are better looking than you are.
Probably meant for the other thread. In my experience, people are more likely to *under*-estimate how good-looking they are. Seems more like natural instinct to find flaws in how you look.
And what's this "everyone" business about?

No like really pale. I think I look horrid odd. No freckles, nothing interesting on my face except for cheeks that make me look like im teething and super dark hair. Am always told how I don't look Irish

I thought very dark hair with milky white skin would have been a trait fairly unique to Ireland, or at least the British Isles

OP! I have that exact same cul-de-sac indent at the top of me bum! I thought it was a genetic throw back (God playing pin the tail on the Monkey) and I have never met anyone else with it. Well, not that I have ever asked...

Pleased to meet you, fellow human. :)

It's a very minor form of spina bifida, harmless.

Another clicker here. Seems I'm not special.

My left thumb clicks. I blame the non-ergonomic design of the Atari 2600 controllers.

I see the months of the year as colours for example January is green and June is pink and August is a sort of creamy yellow.

I've just realised that I do this too! But for me, January is a reddish brown, February is white, March is orange. I do it when I hear the month but also when I see it written down. I never knew this was a thing!

It's not weird. I have naturally jet black hair and skin as pale as snow.

I also have hazel eyes if that's what yiz are talking about?? I have green eyes but there's a brown ring around my pupil. I don't consider it weird. My sisters and my granaunt have the same with different variants of eye colour.

Also cracks and breaks aren't weird, they're part of life!! Sh*t happens.

Also my nose is NEVER warm. Anytime i touch it, it's freezing. Just the one part of my body that heat doesn't go to

Same here - and my feet. At least you can warm your feet, but it's harder to keep your nose warm, especially in bed.

My hands get very cold, very quickly! Bad circulation I'm guessing! I'm the one who wears gloves to football from around October to April :o

I have an extra tooth between my left canine and front teeth, a faint scar on my forehead, ears I can wiggle and ankles which swell at the slightest provocation.

When i'm doing something mildly strenuous I pull faces like the lad after getting shot on the cover of the Platoon dvd. It's rediculous. No control over it what so ever

Super-dark hair on a woman is really nice I find.

I blink lots when I concentrate, I bite the insides of my cheeks, my 2 front teeth are slightly to the right of my nose, I have a threatening hernia that notifies me exactly 30 mins before I need the toilet, I only pee twice a day, morning and before bed.

Probably loads more but my memory is really bad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,766 ✭✭✭Bongalongherb

I'll tell ye one thing though... I have met women that complained about their looks and hair and all that, but I can say that they were actually beautiful from my perspective and they were, but for some very strange reason they thought they were in terrible shape facially which was completely untrue to the way I saw them.

Every-one has a flaw, we all have, but if you look for them closely then you will end up seeing loads of so-called flaws. It's not You that thinks you're beautiful... It's other folk that find you beautiful regardless of your own thoughts on appearance.

Everyone has something unique and beautiful.

People who claim to be 'weird' often aren't. Like people that love to be quirky.

Ya, exactly like lads that repeatedly tell everyone that they're mad (usually galway lads for some reason) ie "I'm mad I am" usually said with pints on board and big red faces on them

I originally had 5 wisdom teeth, before getting two removed. The extra one never came up. Only 1% of the population have extra wisdom teeth, it links back to primitive times, apparently. I can touch my nose with my tongue, though I think that's not too uncommon. Sometimes when I yawn I squirt saliva. Other than that I'm fairly normal :)

My pupils are always quite big. My parents/teachers used to be convinced I was on drugs. I've rugby ball shaped eyes. One of my eyebrows constantly turn upwards, no matter how much I get it waxed/plucked.. My eye goes wonky if I'm REALLY tired. No one believes me but it does. My heart skips a heartbeat. I'm missing a heartbeat which makes me a bit breathless sometimes.. so I can sound quite creepy on the phone :D but to be fair, I am a bit of a creep.

I do that with the days of the week!! Monday - Gray, Tuesday - Yellow, Wednesday - Light Green, Thursday - Purple, Friday - Dark Green, Saturday - Brown, Sunday - Black.

I have no idea when it started, always saw the days of the week like that for as long as I can remember. When im visualising the months of the year, I see the whole year in a sort of 'C' shape. January starts at the very top, summer months are at the curvy bit and winter months sweeping down to the end.

    God I am weird.

Is it really so unusual to associate colours with days, months, numbers etc? Or are people more than just associating and actually *seeing* these colours?

Synaesthesia (blurring of the senses) is fascinating - but I think it's more than just association and it actually manifests physically, e.g. hearing words as tastes in the mouth.

Check out documentary called "Derek Tastes Of Ear Wax".

For me when someone says for example i'll meet you on thursday, I will see the colour purple in my head before the actual day registers.

With the months of the year it appears like a visual C shaped map in space. (Jan at the beginning of the C and Dec at the end). If I have something important to do in april for example, I will visualise how far april is away from sept on this map, instead of actually counting how many months away it is. It gives me a visual perception of time. its like stepping from one space to another on a board game!

I'm quite strong in general and can lift heavy things and even push a small car on flat ground if I had to. I'm not overweight, but for some reason I have never ,not once ,been able to do a pull up or do monkey bars. I can hang for a few seconds but can't even bend my elbows slightly. What's that all about ? It's doesn't make me a weirdo I know but I don't get it.

I have a weird right eye. My left knee clicks. My hips and my left thumb are double jointed. I also have a scare on my stomach. I also have a few on my right arm from cuts I got as a kid. I have a weird looking right thumb as well.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.
