Just updated OSX - problem with tethered hotspot

Updated mac to latest software. 6+ still not updated to 9.0 Now tethered hotspot not working (wireless hotspot is fine). Definitely not cable. Restarted both devices. Anyone else having this problem?

Update: had to time machine the old USB ethernet controller file. Worked.
