My thoughts on this match so far: Ireland are going to have a hell of a QF no matter who we play.

That's the way it goes though innit, it's a World Cup QF. Even if it is argentina it still could have been worse

12-13 at half time - wow, what a match! Great atmosphere at Wembly too it seems.

I don't think anyone really thought Argentina in the QF's would be an "easy" option for Ireland. Just less of a mountain than playing New Zealand.

Eire will lose to either. We won't make semis.

You're right. Because there is no team called Éire playing in this world cup.

Great start to the World Cup, it has been a lot more entertaining than I thought it would be

To be fair lads, the Pumas have been impressive, but we need to get over the whole All Blacks thing.
They're a great team, but they're not unbeatable, and they haven't done much in this game yet to warrant that label.

    see point #3

yeah, that's the point I was making, not good with the multi-quotes...

If we have to play a beaten NZ as unbeaten winners we should not balk at it, believe!

That's what's on the front of my passport and my team are at the WC

Despite the All Black's amazing record over the last few years, they haven't convincingly won that many times. They just seem to pull off a lot of the tight ones.

What's the likely outcome for Carter if he's cited?

NZ draft in one of their other world class out halves

And United Kingdom is likely on the front of passports belong to others who that team represents - should we refer to the team as that so?? Of course not.

I really hate how rugby is becoming like league. That was knocked out of Reads hands backwards, surely?

Not sure why people are making such a deal of these. Since I've been a nipper if you lose control of the ball and it hits the deck it's a knock on. Unless it clearly goes backwards it's a knock on. And by clearly going backwards I don't mean travel to the deck back by a few inches, I mean being physically knocked back by a few feet.

It's far too pedantic to look at it otherwise... Th tmo will be asked to bring a ruler out soon.

It's a lot to do with their reputation. A team gets a little lead and it's 75 minutes and they start thinking about how they're about to beat the All Blacks and BAM! they lose.

The other team has to apologise to him. Sure your not even allowed tackle Dan.

Did the NZ not release on the ground???

    AK et al... Your thoughts

I thought it was a penalty for NZ not releasing the ball but on reply looks like the tackler didn't release.

Arg need to get a try before their back up to 15.

Hmmm...for me, it always had to be clearly knocked forward. You see plenty of times where you hear the ref says it 'went backwards'. Read's incident looked clearly backwards to me, no chance that it could have gone forward.

There is no Eire team in the World Cup - refer to the charter. No more on the subject from anyone please.

    It is sarcasm, don't worry.

Barnes has done well so far, and the TMO has been used effectively.

Barnes for MOTM if he keeps playing like this.

I can see Barnes handing out more cards in the second half.

Yeah. To be honest great heart but missing that clinical edge. They should've scored a try before the smith yellow.

Was talking to my NZ neighbour this morning, he was saying that after yesterday's game you can't afford to be complacent with any team. I think I can hear his sigh from here.

Don't know if I want the Argies to win this if we plan on winning our group, but I can't really help cheering for them.

Penalty for Argentina, chance to go four ahead.

Is anyone surprised they aren't going for the corner?

I have a ticket to Winner D against Runner up C, if Arg are winners of C, they deserve to be feared more. NZ a mental block for Irl at this stage

This is pretty much the pool decider for Pool C. Barring some Japan style heroics from Namabia. Not surprising that the Argies are well up for it.

I don't think Arg would fear Fr or Irl to be fair

Sonny Bill. You've been playing like absolute rubbish. Please redeem yourself.
