    Hey all,

There's some other service but I forget the name,

    any help please?

    thank you.

So I want to go to a place that I can pick up my letters?

    1. I pay for the service.
    2. I travel to the town/city, sign my name and pick up my post.

I forget the name of the service(s) in Ireland, any idea please?

    thanks.

You can't get your post delivered to Parcel Motel though. Not unless you get An Post to sell it to you via Amazon with free UK delivery. But that seems a bit convoluted

    Wait, what??

It's a normal address. Through the magic of the postman delivering it to Parcel Motel...

  • Registered Users Posts: 16 sheep_

Seriously, what exactly is going on here? I just thought I could pay the 5 euro or whatever and have my letters posted to that address, I can then go collect them in Galway.

    ???

Parcel Motel isn't just for Amazon... You can send pretty much anything to the Parcel Motel addresses (either Dublin or Belfast) and they'll bring it to your collection point.

It won't work for the OP though unless he tells everyone who posts him stuff to use the Parcel Motel address instead of his.

    OK, talk us through it.

I'm writing a letter now to Mr. Sheep, I'll address it to

    Mr. Sheep
    Parcel Motel
    Finglas

I stick it in the letter box here at home, how does it get to Mr. Sheep?

He'd need to get An Post deliver all his post to Nightline first would he not?:p

Seeing they are the ones that own the lockers

Yeah, pretty much. Nightline runs Parcel Motel. He'd have to get his post delivered to the Parcel Motel depots, so anyone writing to him would have to address it to them...

but there's a special code, and maybe they know to send it to me because of the code.

sign up for yourself and you will see m8

How does who know to send it to you?

You haven't thought this the whole way through

  • Registered Users Posts: 190 ✭✭defrule

PM is simple, you register for a personal code and choose the nearest locker.

When you buy stuff, just fill in the PM depot address in Belfast or Dublin with you personal code too. They will then move the parcel from the depot to the locker you chose at registration and text you with a pin.

Go to the locker, type pin and a door opens. Collect.

But how does that work when the dole is sending you out a signer?

Seriously, what the f*ck is going on in this thread?

Just get your post delivered to parcel motel.
    Register with them.
    Get a PMID.
Put the PMID and their address as your own address.
The letter gets delivered to them.
They use the PMID on the letter to drop it to your local box and text you to tell you it's there.

Simple as. Anyone who says otherwise is talking sh*te.

At €3.95 per letter delivered that would be a pretty expensive option for most people I'd imagine.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 367 ✭✭justchecked

    Cheapest option.....

... get it delivered to a closed business you know of. Preferably with one of them thar fancy exterior boxes.

Then liberate it from the box by means of hammer or wirey gluey device (tm).

    you did say cheapest.

This option was almost used by yours truly at one particularly difficult time.
But lets forget about that, the charges were dropped and the monkey returned almost unharmed.

Racing pigeons would probably have some spare cash,if they're any good and haven't spent it all on the drink and ho pigeons.

If it was a longterm thing, you could also look at a virtual office!

    No idea of costs though

https://www.parcelconnect.ie/ is like parcel motel , but using shops

with both you can send to the Northern Ireland address to bounce back to where you want

    AH answer

If you don't have any relatives you could make some friends and get stuff delivered to them,

  • Administrators Posts: 54,184 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Parcel Motel would get pretty expensive if you want to use it for all your post. Every time you get a letter it's going to cost you 4 quid.
