We are about to commence a refurb/extension on a vacant property in a town. We have no account for the property. There is no fuseboard existing but before the property was vacated all the infrastructure (wiring) from the pole was renewed and is still there.
Can you tell me the cost of getting this reconnected and what the procedure is to get this done? Thanks

It would depend on how long the property has been without power. As it would need internal wiring work done, before getting reconnected you would need an electrical contractor to complete this work and certify it. If the property has been without power for less than two years, the cost to reconnect with us would be €79.45 (incl. VAT).

For reconnections to properties that have been without power for more than 2 years, or for new self-built houses, you would need to apply for a new connection with ESB Networks. You can find more information on this here. For a list of ESB Networks connection charges, see here.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    David
