Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

does anyone else think that people who work as so called 'tutors' to aldult job seekers eg fas computar courses etc are just cowboys who try to help out the unemployed but really dont give a toss. ???

does doing any of those jobs skills courses actually do anything for you ??

Do you mean people who couldn't get a job so they made up a job in which they helped people to get jobs?

Do they have a Stetson on?

Most cowboys wore bowler hats (although they would have called them 'derbies').

It's a system, the fas tutor's follow the procedure and that's their job. Whether they give a toss or not is irrelevant.

In the US if they gamble in casinos, they're cowboys ........ if they own the casino, they're Indians.

Back in the days of the wild west that would be true. But the modern cowboy wears a Stetson.

I know a lad who did something related to computers through Fás. Got an IT job. Don't know if it has anything to do with experience through Fás, or if it was seen that he was keen on the work and quick to learn up on it.

But sure, to consider someone a cowboy. They're generally not bothered with standards. I'm not too sure if it's to do with level of training or ability to train.

This is the problem man, poor fella went off and learnt about computers and the only work he can get is as a killer clown. Feckin Fine Gael.
