Insulation

Just bought house and are considering insulation options. Our surveyor's report says:
We suspect given the age of the property that the external walls are insulated. We did note in one location where it was possible to see through the permanent vent that the wall was a cavity construction with an aeroboard insulation within the cavity.

Question: is aeroboard any good? Can/should we still pump beads into the cavity.

Note: I'm an absolute notice so fear making basic mistakes with a fair major decision :o

Before you spend any money (probably needlessly), consider this:
You have just bought your house and therefore you have no idea how it will be to live in. It may be a cold house or you be as snug as a bug. Unfortunately, you won't know until after the winter or you have a full heatloss survey carried out.

To answer your question, aeroboard is as good as any other insulation material. Insulation material is only as good as how well it is installed. Solid insulation boards installed in the cavities of houses are rarely done right and therefore are pretty poor for preventing heatloss by conduction. Pumping the remaining cavity with bonded bead insulation will do little to improve the situation.
