Is this true? There's a mention in this week's NandS about lads going over to English clubs for soccer trials/apprenticeships. For some reason it doesn't work out and they come back home, to work in a chipper. Is that just local urban legend or did this actually to someone in town?

yes I know quite a few who've come back to do normal jobs here, and play for local teams or league of Ireland at best. pretty normal really.

Of course it happens not every person that goes over there makes the grade. M nephew had trials for a well known club he didn't make it now he is back working away as if he never went over there in the first place. There is nothing wrong with it no matter the reason for coming back.

Lots of people try jobs/careers they either don't like or are not successful at.

Why think football would be any different?

My thoughts exactly. Does anyone really give a toss? It must of been a slow news day if it was in the paper.
