    Hey,

My wife and I recently had our first child (born in BC, we are both Irish). We have started the process of getting him a Canadian passport however seem to have hit a snag. A part of the application needs you to have a guaranteer (spelling?) who is a Canadian passport holder and has known you for at least 2 years. We have not even been here 2 years so it is impossible for us to get one!

Anyone been in this situation before?

My friend had this issue also, but was here over two years and was able to use a work colleague. I would suggest a priest or community police officer, or your landlord/neighbour. Maybe they could write something that explains how long they have known you and the date you landed.
    Good luck with it
