Really looking forward to the NH season.

I've just read Mark Howard's book. R Ricci runs through his string in the book and outlines their plans. Faugheen, Vautour go to Kempton at Christmas. Annie Power will likely start in Hatton's Grace and go for either the Mare's or World Hurdle. Djakadam will run in the Lexus and Irish Hennessy. Douvan will target the Arkle.

A lot of talk aswell about a Ricci horse named Min. Currently 20/1 for the Supreme. I've been told he's working the house down in Closutton. Make of it what you will. (Personally, don't think his French results stack up compared to Douvan, Vautour before him). Wait For Me (with Philip Hobbs) is my novice hurdler to keep an eye on.

The RSA should be a cracker this year. Possible field of More Of That, Minella Rocco, Bitofapuzzle, Beat That, No More Heroes, Outlander, Alpha des Obeaux, Arbre de Vie, Aux Ptits Soins. Martello Tower stays hurdling.

Champion Chase is open enough. I'm suspect about Un de Sceaux myself and whether he can maintain/improve his form. Could see Vautour going for the QM. Sizing Granite now 33/1 also one to watch.

My hope for the season is for Annie Power to win at Cheltenham (preferably WH). Really hope she does it.

where did you get Mark Howards book ?

I think I read that she was his number 1 earner last year too? Could be wrong with that one though. He's a fantastic trainer and takes advantage of the situations that present themselves but I'd like her to be tested. Could be a serious for the Ryanair if campaigned accordingly.

Maybe they're going for the Mare's Hurdle at Cheltenham with her (with Annie Power going for the World Hurdle) or the World Hurdle with VVM even. I think they might go for the Peterborough on Sunday now though, only issue being a suitable jockey for her with multiple runners in the Hilly Way and John Durkan.

Nobody hates a loser! I doubt Willie is too concerned, his job is not to be popular.

Simonsig has a degenerative bone disease, for every one good day training he has three bad ones. He's not a long term proposition for Champion chases or anything, save your cash.

It's probably worth a shot running him on the flat at this stage he might stay sound enough to win a decent prize or two.

You can thank Noel Fehily for that.

Was very satisfied with Don Poli today. 8/1 top price for GC is still nothing special but can can vision him rallying up the hill under a strong paced race

Fehily made amends for himself there not that it's any use for the last race.

Very disappointing news if true. I hear Coneygree is out for the season with a stress fracture found on hock

    :(:(:(:(:(

Very sad news which makes the positive vibes yesterday all the stranger considering the alleged seriousness of the injury.

Desperate news, his front running is a spectacle

Coneygree the latest in a long line of horses unlikely to fulfill their potential because their trainer's don't know how to train a good horse.

As opposed to all the Henderson/Mullins/Nicholls horses who get injured.

Unless you are positive his training methods are too hard on horses then speculating is ridiculous.

He won the Gold Cup as a Novice, he fulfilled his potential, and couldn't have been trained any better as he already has had a long break. Training staying chasers has to be difficult at the best of times.

Hopefully hell be back but that's a shockingly annoying statement .

He won one Gold Cup as a novice so he has the potential to win several so how can he have fulfilled his potential? So far, in his short career, he has been lame at the start at Plumpton in the opinion of the vet and connections apparently didn't have the computer skills to give him an entry in the King George. Let's see how they handle him going forward.

An opinion that has been strongly disputed and the evidence of his win 7 days later would suggest that the Bradstock's were correct and actually know their horse a bit better than said vet. They did after all bring the horse back after nearly 2 years off the course to win 5 chases on the bounce including two G1's and become the first novice to win a GC in 40 years and in so doing becoming the highest rated novice chaser this century, indeed them Bradstocks haven't a clue what they are at

Just backed Desoto County @ 25/1 for the Betfair Hurdle, no luck and came from nowhere to grab 3rd at Leopardstown.

I actually put him into my tracker after that run and had him in mind for the County Hurdle at the festival, will definitely land a large prize soon!

Wonder what the plan for Smashing is, in the main he's a superb jumper of a fence.

Think De Bromhead said he wants to go the handicap route for the festival. He was favouring the 2 and a half mile chase for him as opposed to the Ryanair.

A shame to hear they are seriously struggling with him and it seems like retirement is looming in.
