Any alternative to Premier Broadband around Thurles?

Where I live I can't get wired broadband and as I work from home and have staff a dongle isn't an option.

I've been with Premier Broadband since they started, stuck with them through all their technical issues etc, but I'm at my wits end with them and would drop them this second if I had a viable alternative to them.

I've asked them for a better connection but they said that the 3mb I've got is as good as it's going to get.

I'd probably manage if I actually was getting 3mb but today and tonight I've got the equivalent of dial-up ..... and I'm serious when I say that, it's 28mbps right now.

My time with this shower is coming to an end.

So do any of you know of any options?

When we were living very rurally we had Qsat, which we found grand. Not amazing but having dealt with premier BB in the past, Qsat were much better, was pricey at 50 a month but you had unlimited downloads during (very) off peak hours. Munster wireless could be another option but haven't had any dealings with them. Husband says to contact Unitec in Clonmel and see if they cover the area too.

Depending on how far outside Thurles you are I'd say satellite is your only option

Right well I think the time has come to finally part company with Premier Broadband and it looks like Nova may be the best alternative for me right now.

    Anyone with them?

    Experiences?

I am also not too far from Thurles (Horse and Jockey side) and use Premier Broadband. I work from home a few days a week also and find the download speed during the day to be ok...but only ok (between 2 and 3MB). As for upload...forget it....very poor....barely getting 0.1MB which means sending emails with any sort of attachment takes for ever.
Things get even worse in the evenings. Download takes a nosedive and even reading a news app on my smart phone is nearly impossible.

Id be interested to hear how you get on with a switch to Nova or Qsat.

    Cheers.

QSAT has a number of complaints and very poor reviews in the midband forum
