A goal doesn't change the fact that that was a very turgid and sloppy first half performance. Playing bottom of the league Sunderland at home, we should be putting them to the fúcking sword. Get Herrera and Basti out there.

Agreed - Schneiderlin and Carrick are both holding midfielders. Throw Rooney in on top of that dropping back into central midfield and you get a huge gap between defence and attack. One of Carrick or Schneiderlin, with one of Schweinsteiger or Herrera and things would be a little more lively.

I'm with you on that. He should start the next game ahead of Memphis and to a lesser extent Rooney.
