Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rooney off and Herrera on please.

I said it before, Carrick and Morgan cannot function together.

Sunderland are gash and we should be putting two or three past them.

Lee Cattermole in losing the runner shocker.

Ahh now. He's been below par this season, regardless of the assists he's gotten.

Think we saw the best and worst of what he has to offer in those 45 minutes. Seen him easily dispossessed in our own half and make some failed passes, but we've also seen him get into good positions and provide one of those assists that he's been getting despite not being in top form.

Anyway, Mata is gold compared to the form Rooney is in at the moment. Outside of turning Cattermole beautifully and sparking a failed attack, our captain has been a passenger once again. The odd ball sprayed out wide to a FB, we need far more than that from him.

This could be LVG, but Rooney spent a lot of that half playing quite deep, and with Carrick and Schneiderlin out there already what is the point in that? Sems completely redundant.

A goal doesn't change the fact that that was a very turgid and sloppy first half performance. Playing bottom of the league Sunderland at home, we should be putting them to the fúcking sword. Get Herrera and Basti out there.

Agreed - Schneiderlin and Carrick are both holding midfielders. Throw Rooney in on top of that dropping back into central midfield and you get a huge gap between defence and attack. One of Carrick or Schneiderlin, with one of Schweinsteiger or Herrera and things would be a little more lively.

    Martial is a fookin machine.

They are there to be taken apart now.

Serious 'space creation' or whatever from Martial.

    We're top of the league!!!

It was a Martial goal, he just used Wayne Rooney. He likes snooker a lot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,632 ✭✭✭✭Sand

Schneiderlin taking passing inspiration from Rooney there.

Blind needs to have a word with both of them.

    He "needed" that one

Lost our way a bit here. Sunderland have really come into this game.

Midfield need to hold of the ball and start passing it around.

    Great ball by Rooney there.

    Hope to see Pereira on.

    Blind off for jones.

Rooney needs to start doing the simple stuff first and stop the fancy flicks and passes.

Lovely strike from Mata, anyone else but Giant Gonzalez in the goals and that was 3-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

Trying to walk the ball in. Sunderland are the worst side I've seen this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭Bret Hart

Need a Martial goal now too complete what'd be a great day.

That run from Rooney there showed he is a pale shadow of the player he was.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Really positive run from Rooney but should have taken the shot on.

Icing on the cake from mata.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭SeanJ09

    ASSIST BY YOUNG :O

Some first touch from Mata, killed the ball stone dead.

Am i the only one who is saying that UTD should be playing Ashley Young more then what he plays now as he is a player who always gives 110% and can cross the ball very well ?.

I'm with you on that. He should start the next game ahead of Memphis and to a lesser extent Rooney.

Good result and good performance. Martial looks like an excellent player. Rooney off the mark. Memphis with his first league goal. And top of the league.
