I'm setting up a new machine for the kids and grand parents to be able to watch movies / stream . Another machine on the network will also be accessing data on this new machines HDD over SMB to stream movies.

Sorry these are not linked directly to hardwareversand.de

I was thinking something like this, but was wondering if I can make it better and stay under 400e or keep much the same and get it a bit cheaper.

    Board: MSI B85M-P33, mATX, Sockel 1150 44.00

    CASE: Cooler Master Mini 210 Micro-ATX 74:00

    CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 3,6GHz LGA1150 3MB Cache Boxed CPU 113

    FAN: Thermaltake Gravity i1 12.00

    HDD: WD Red RD1000S 3TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB 115e

    RAM: 4GB Crucial DDR3 1600 MT/s CL11 PC3-12800 single ranked 22e

    1. What is your budget? 400e

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer?

Watching Blu-Ray, Rips. Streaming some news streams 720/1080.

A machine on the local network will also stream from this machines HDD, sometimes
    at the same time.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.] No

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes

    9. When are you purchasing? ASAP

I reckon a Pentium G3220 should be enough for you

You could probably trim a fair chunk off price with a cheaper case as well.

    Cheers lads,

With the case I wanted to try and give them something that would be ok under the tv and could take both the 3TB and the SSD disk which a lot of the type's of cases that were cheaper I was looking at didn't have.

Maybe avoid hardwareversand.de, unless someone can say that the latest fiasco is over.

    What's the current fiasco ? :)
