Full games bought via dashboard

I know that Games with Gold games require a continued Xbox live sub but if I purchase lets say Batman Arkham Knight via the dashboard do I need to retain an Xbox live sub to play this? I think it was reduced to €49.99 on the dashboard and Argos have it for €59.99

Not at all. Any game you buy is yours regardless of your Gold status.
