Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Well taken Mata!!!

He was very close to mata. Was a bit harsh.

Mata is having a hell of a season. Uniteds most effective player in terms of assists and goals so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Mata has been really impressive so far.

They are full of mistakes at the back when pressed. Overplaying it and losing. More in it for Utd if they apply themselves.

Clear cut peno but can't understand the yellow? Silly to have his hands up but obviously wasn't deliberate.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

No, it was a handball, no need for dangly arms.

Harsh if his hands were down. His hands were in the air so not harsh IMO.

Martial is some player. He reminds me of shearer with his back to goal.

LVG seems to love him though!
Van Persie was one of his boys too.

It is harsh to be fair. The right decision, but harsh. His arm was just swinging as he turned away from the shot.

It's a penalty but an unfortunate one to give away.

He was close yes, but his arms were up in the air. If his arms were down by his sides he would have been fine but if you flail them about like that, it's a penalty every time.

At least Memphis hits the target...

Ball to Memphis was a little behind him. Pity. Mata on fire though

Probably was a pen. Don't know why he needed to book him though.

Not a yellow, can see why Morgan was in disbelief.

Because he has to. Deliberate handball is a yellow card. And when a player puts hit arms in the air, they class it as deliberate.

Mata 's on pens. LVGs rotation system where if you miss one you're off. Think Rooney missed his last ages ago so it was Mata. Herrera is 2nd taker hence why he took in last game, mata had gone off.

Is this the ref who sent off Nani against Madrid?

It wasnt for dissent. He's wrong. It was for the hand ball. He had to, its in the rules. There is no discretion.

They don't always give yellows for it. Someone else said it was for dissent

Just because it was the correct decision doesn't mean it was not harsh. Caligiuri's arm movement looked natural, but the rules say if your arm is out swinging they have to give a penalty. It's a tough rule but that's the only fair way to judge it.

Disagree with the yellow. Didn't realise he was given one at the time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

    Jaysus ref is card happy.

    Worrying.

No but you would be forgiven for thinking so. Loves his cards. Morgan and the hand ball in the box were never cards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,632 ✭✭✭✭Sand

United should beat this team in the second half. Wolfsburg could be 3-1 down if Rooney and Memphis were a little more ruthless.

Pretty good so far imo, should be winning. Pity Rooney couldn't finish that chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Wolfsburg's right back looks way out of his depth at this level.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

Have a feeling there'll be a sending off ref making poor decisions and card happy for both wins

Glad to be going in level after a horrendous start, but Rooney needs to start contributing. He is on 300k a week.
