Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    64GB ALUMINIUM AVAILABLE NOW!
Just ordered mine. Expected deliver is 16-18 Nov :)
I don't know what case to order for it. I don't want much bulk as it's a fairly decent sized phone already. Looking at the ADOPTED Protective Case or the Official
Nexus 6P case , what do you think? The ogival 6P case has a felt section on the back which world's get fairly grubby quickly.
P.S I used the app, store stock checker to notify me of availability!

Just ordered by 64GB aluminium also. same delivery date, 16-18th Nov.
I was on the wait list, but no emails.

I know same here. What's the point of being on a wait list and not receiving a availability update.
The stock checker app worked a threat!

I ordered a frost on the 7th Oct and it is still pending and no charge has hit my account. Ordered a alum this morning and a charge is showing up in my account now, status is pending also.
When one ships i'll cancel the other

I looked at that but the felt is a non runner. If it became contaminated with oil or grease you'd never get it clean

Ordered 32Gb Carbon yesterday, arrived this afternoon. Got that carbon case too, I like it. So far, very impressed by the phone.

Oh, and one possible gotcha, it uses a nano-SIM. I was upgrading from a M7 HTC One that used a micro SIM, so had to go get a new SIM at a Meteor shop.

Oh, thanks for that. I'm also updating from M7. Let me know if you see any improvements over the M7 in terms of signal etc? My M7 battery lasts about 5 hours these days.

I am patiently waiting for the 128gb. Decided to sell my S6 edge. Really want to know how durable this phone is though. Hopefully it won't be like the Note 4 which was awful.

I ordered my 32GB on Tuesday Morning and received it Wednesday morning.

  • Registered Users Posts: 958 ✭✭✭1jcdub

My 64gb is due the 16th Nov. Hopefully it'll arrive earlier as I'm selling my S6 edge for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭heebusjeebus

My Graphite 32 giggerbitter just arrived.
Just setting it up now but it feels great in the hand. No raised edges thankfully from the bottom back panel.
Looking at the storage, I've 25GB to play with before installing apps. Think I can live with that as I've mentioned previously.

    EDIT:
The backup and restore option from the Google Settings app is brillant. My first time trying it out but it's doing a great job of copying over apps and widgets from my OnePlus One.

Are you prompted to restore on booting up for the first time?

Yes, when you're setting up your profile and all that jazz. It's a fairly simple process but your old phone needs to be active.
I'm currently tethering my 6P to the OPO as I need to get a Nano sim from 3 Mobile later today.

I have no idea. The case is a bit tough to put on, and I don't plan on taking it off. What specifically should I check for for you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,971 ✭✭✭Flaccus

Just take the case off and check out the chamfered edges. You might have small micro scratches if you got the aluminium colour or paint chipping if you got the carbon. I posted a video on post #144. Trying to determine if finish is poor like the note 4 and what colour to get. Would drive me mad if the edges were a scratch magnet.

It'll work on all networks worldwide unless you purchase aa 6P from the US

Just saw this in my notification tray.

    http://9to5mac.com/2015/10/30/nexus-6p-iphone-6-plus-bendgate/?pushup=1

I really don't care about bending as I don't sit on my phones but this is concerning :

"it will start to scratch from friction with any product that has a rating of 6 or higher on Mohs scale of hardness. What’s perhaps worse is that having scratched the screen, a light tap on the front glass panel made a long crack appear along the surface. He scratched the back metal too and noted how incredibly easy the anodized finish was to mark permanently, even with some keys."

Then again a good tempered glass screen protector and soft tpu or gel case will pre-empt these issues I expect.

Seems the model tested could be a pre-production unit.

Going to buy these cables for my existing chargers:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00YXJ3VXM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1446238654&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=Aukey+USB+2.0+USB+Type+C+%28USB-C%29+to+USB-A+Cable&dpPl=1&dpID=41WTzmfGdvL&ref=plSrch
Also looking at a tempered glass screen protector. I've never fitted one before. Are they noticable when fitted?

Yes they are, but they dont take away from the look of the screen to be honest.

Im happy enough with the two chargers that come with it and then bought a quickcharging car charger.

    Two chargers? Or two cables?
How are you finding the 6P in general?

Oh I havent got mine yet. Awaiting a 64gb graphite. I have watched unboxings. Two cables.

    1 x type C-type C
    1 x type A-type C

The wall power input only accepts the type C-type C cable.

But the type A-type C will connect to any of your current power inputs.

From what I understand the charger provides 3amps so easily matches the quick charge 2 / fast chargers out there.

This phone is a beast. Really notice the extra power over the OPO when browsing. Not many web sites will slow it down.
Really need my case to arrive as it's slippy but I'm sure a nice skin could remedy that too.

Just did aa wifi speed test and hitting close to 90 Mbps down which is double what I was getting on the OPO.

Anyway, loving it so far. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Looking to get some extra charging cables for use with my old chargers. Would these be decent quality?
I know they won't offer fast charge. I just need extra cables for work and the car etc.

They only take the funds for the phone on the day of dispatch

Thanks. I always end up with lemons so now like to check things out before buying. Some people over on XDA and Android central complaining about the oleophobic coating not being even on the screen so some parts are like fingerprint magnets. Also some complaints about yellow tint appearing at low brightness levels. But a good few received graphite models with chips in them along the edges and even the back. I guess you only here from the people with issues and there are bound to be a few unlucky ones.

I've ordered one of these on the launch day so it should be delivered this week. I don't think I want it now as I bought the iPhone 6S in the mean time. Can I play with it for a week and then send it back to Google?
