Practicing pharmacy with a BSc or an MPharm?

    What is the law regarding qualifications to practice as a pharmacist? My local pharmacist has a BSc (Pharm), M.P.S.I. Does that mean it is possible to practice as a pharmacist with just a BSc? What is the advantage of the MPharm level 9 course in RCSI, in this case?

    A little confused about the law on this one.

    No it isn't possible to practice with just a BSc. The MPSI is the important bit. It means the person is registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. Until about 5 years ago you did a year's practical work after the degree and sat an exam (at level 9) set by the PSI to register.
    Then the qualification was changed to a Masters degree, which is now the only route of entry.
