Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Possible Liverpool line up:

    squad-332.jpg

    Preview from the BBC

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will be rested for the Europa League visit of Swiss side Sion on Thursday.
Belgium international Divock Origi, who has started just one match for the Reds since returning from a loan spell at Lille, is likely to play up front.
Forwards Christian Benteke (hamstring) and Roberto Firmino (leg) are also missing for Brendan Rodgers's side.
Skipper Jordan Henderson, out until mid-November with a broken foot, and defender Dejan Lovren are out.
    Rodgers set to make changes
Rodgers opted to give starts to a number of young players in the 1-1 draw at French side Bordeaux, and looks set to do the same against Sion.
The Reds travel to Everton for the first Merseyside derby of the season on Sunday.
"Our approach to this game is how it's been in the competition - this is an opportunity for young players and an opportunity for players on the fringe of the team that aren't getting so many games," said the Northern Irishman.
"But it's also going to require players that have been playing. Ultimately for us the aim is to win the game.
"We recognise that our home games in this competition are very important and we enter into it with that mindset. Then we can concentrate on the game on Sunday."
    The opposition
Sion are aiming to move a step closer to the next phase by following up their opening Group B win against Rubin Kazan with a positive result at Anfield.
But the Swiss Cup holders, who are fifth in the 10-team Super League, travel to Merseyside on the back of two successive league defeats

Prediction, an unconvincing win for Liverpool.

I'll be waving so you better wave back!

I'm going for a 'Pool win, 2-0, Ings and Sakho.

I'll be keeping an ear open for the crowd sentiment just to see the reaction to BR atm.

Looking forward to this, it's my first European game:)

I can see Rodgers going back 4 at the back and 1 up top again for this, just because it would be like something he would do

He'll probably stick with 3 at the back, but hopefully one of them won't be Can. Once he picks a defensive formation he doesn't change it until things fall apart, then rinse and repeat.

Looking forward to this. Always good to have a European tie at Anfield to watch, especially when it's an 8pm kick off. I hate the 6pm ones.

Yes I agree. It has to click eventually and tonight could be the night.

Hopefully he plays 2 strikers, and goes for the novel idea of playing both as strikers.

That should increase the chances of it clicking imo

Any line ups announced? I hope Ings starts and yes, two up front please even if the other is Origi.

Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Gomez, Can, Lallana, Rossiter, Allen, Ibe, Origi, Ings.

Subs Bogdan, Coutinho, Sakho, Moreno, Brannagan, Randall, Chirivella.

Happy with that, if the match is comfortable in the second half bring on Brannagan, Randall and Chiri for a run out

Seeing Ibe on the team sheet makes me sad, other than that I'm happy.

He's done nothing all season imo, but i don't mind him starting tonight. This could be a good match for him to show what he can do. If we play well, get a rhythm going and get a good result, he might well play his part and set up him for some good performances over the next few months.

But if we flop and he flops, then may the Lord have mercy on us all.

Losing Sunday will affect his job a lot more than tonight.

Sick seeing Can at RCB, it's not a good position with him, he keeps getting caught out of position. Yes he can pass and carry the ball but he's not reaching his potential in that position.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭Magico Gonzalez

...also, hope Lallana plays behind a front 2. Hope Origi isn't all sorts of meh again.

Hopefully. I half expect to see Origi or Ings hugging the touchline though.

    Naw, Nervol is still injured.

Anfield glorious tonight. Joe Allen has his shooting boots on tonight so expect....well, not much really, same old, same old.

Does he look like a better looking Gary Neville in person?

Probably. However, getting another win could do wonders.

I'm curious about something so I'm going to try and count just how many times Jordan Ibe goes down a wing before cutting back on to the opposite foot. It was embarrassing against Carlisle last week.

Anfield looks absolutely majestic at night, good noise from the away fans.
