Why is the deadball area so small?

A few grounds like this for the World Cup. Mainly the football pitches - St James Park, Brighton etc.

France or Argentina. Or France and New Zealand. Tournament will be over in 2 weeks either way.

Want to put a charity bet on that?

Should have taken the points there. Have we learned nothing from England!!

Ireland aren't at the races today, maul is terrible so far, Toner is a big loss there but not helped by the Italians being able to do want they there.

    Ireland have been pretty poor.

Two observations as we come to half time.

Henshaw has added a lot more potency to the 3/4 line thus far. Parisse has added a lot more potency to Italy in general. It's making for an exciting game all told.

Bit of a reality check here. The "we'll put 30 or 40 points on them" doesn't look like this now.

Italian TH popping up, pen to italy?

Italy 7 messing with McGraths bind in the scrum there RIGHT in front of Garces. Thats pretty terrible reffing.

Have to say I'm surprised at what I've seen from Italy so far. Nothing in their previous matches suggested they were worth worrying about. We've been quite sloppy though. Really need to tighten things up in the 2nd half.

How long between a ref saying use it, and then acting on that is supposed to be allowed?

Garces hasn't given us much, clear high tackle there

Italian lineout is shocking, elsewhere they've been very good though.

Everyone saying we will hammer them during the week. Italy will be happy

Henderson and Earls are probably my only two stand outs this half, maybe SOB too.

Heaslip, bowe and Murray might as well be sitting in the changing room

You're on. I hope you win the bet though.

Scrum was even enough. Ireland probably would have got the ball had Murray not gone beyond the ball

Ref keeps saying use it and then doing nothing when they don't! Nobody from Ireland has played well today! Need to up the gears in the 2nd half!

    Not good enough really

If I win donate €5 to The Irish Cancer Society- what's yours?

    Positives: centre partnership looks good
    Negatives: our maul

No point having a strong lineout if can't do anything with the possession

Garces has been disappointing, missing/ letting a lot go.
