Ray Wilkins thinks its the size of Conte's backroom staff that is holding up any announcement. He wants to bring in at least 6 people.

The club want to keep Steve Holland as assistant but Conte himself might not be keen on it. Eddie Newton and Chris Jones will need new roles too.

He'll be going somewhere new anyway, I'd be thinking United

I suppose whoever offers him the most money, probably Utd.

I'd take him as back up with Costa and Traore his wages are insane in Paris.

Himself and Jose together, recipe for dynamite if it goes off.

I'd prefer to see Solanke there next year, Traore will surely get a few games between now and the end of the season and will be a capable back up.

Really need to start integrating some of our own youth into the first team.

If JT goes, the only club grown players left are RLC and Traore. A few of the better loanees from Christensen, Ake, Solanke, Baker, Boga, Musonda will have to come into the squad soon

I reckon solanke will get an English loan next.
    Ake will be sold
    Baker will be sold
    Boga out on loan
    Musonda loan
    Christansen brought back

They worked together at Inter. Jose used to look as miserable as possible when he scored so Ibra would play even harder. He sold him in his second season though for 45m and Eto.

Ibras got a few good things to say about Jose, would Jose take him to Utd?

    Time will tell.

Thought Van Ginkel was pretty good tonight but overall think Atletico look a limited side so not sure it says much our familar faces Felipe Luis and Torres scoring pens on their way to next stage; Bruma and Van Ginkel also dispatched their pens for PSV but their night ends here.

I feel had PSV a better keeper they would be going away happy instead seems at least 3 of Atletico pens should have been bread and butter stuff for a decent shot stopper but they snuck in.

I had a big response typed out but it disappeared. :o

This article, although a little biased in his favour, paints him in a decent light.

    http://outsideoftheboot.com/2016/03/15/scout-report-lewis-baker-chelseas-next-big-thing/
His importance to Rob Maas’ side is underlined by the fact that only six players have accrued more minutes than Baker (1633) in the Vitesse ranks. In terms of key passes, Baker ranks eighth in the Eredivise hitherto with 47 and the Englishman has accrued four goals and three assists. Deployed as the central midfielder in Bosz’s 4-3-3 system Baker is given the freedom to get forward whilst also providing a creative spark.
What really stands out when analysing Baker’s statistics are the sheer number of goals that he has to his name. 18 goals in 46 games for Chelsea’s U-21 side and 10 in 25 at England youth level would be formidable numbers for a striker, let alone a central midfielder. While he has failed to carry his goalscoring exploits to senior level (7 in 43 games) it is something that will likely, in time, become his main asset at senior level.

Nothing, nada, zilch, maybe hes waiting to decide what to do or maygbe the club doesnt want to be bent over a barrel.

If the RLC wages are true, theres no waythey'll want to replicate those figures with another youth player, even one that hasnt featured much in 1st team squads, let alone games.

It would be disappointing to lose him though.

The Roma DOF, Walter Sabtini (sp) is in talks to become our new DOF, working with Conte.

Reports coming from Italy suggests, considering Conte is 100% in the door yet, I'd hold off popping the victory champagne just yet.

Put Emenalo in charge of signing u-21's/22's, his budget should be £10m max per player, the likes of De Bruyne and Courtois type signings.

His signings for the first team have been average at best.

Reports in Brazil that Pato is going to be sent back from his loan early. He's apparently making no effort to get match fit and doesn't seem too bothered that he's not playing and that management are fairly disappointed with him.

Dont know do I believe it, he needs this more than we need him.

If he wants a way back to Europe arseing around and not doing the work isnt the way to do that.

I've said it for awhile though whoever sanctioned the deal waited about 3 weeks too late to get him in.

Hes here 6 weeks at this stage, with Hazard and Costa both out this weekend and everything out of our reach, we might as well play him.

Theres no way hes not fit enough to play some part for us, hes not overweight and he wasnt injured.

Nothing but ideal specualtion on this Friday morning but Ibra, yay or nay?

Bamford isnt good enough, Solanke is probably too raw, so that leaves us with Costa, who will hopefully stay, Traore, who could be a fine player if given time and Remy, who'll probably leave in the summer along with Falcao whos been a waste as hes been injured too much.

I'd tak Ibra anyway but it would pi*s all over the clubs policy of 1 year deals for over 30s if they went away and gave Ibra a 2 year deal.

PSG get Man City in the UCL.

Thats PSG into the Semi Finals, Citys best hope was to draw Wolfsburg or Benfica in the QFs if they wanted to go further, IMO.

Bonucci is 29 in May, we'd be getting 3 or years out of him at best.

I'd prefer to get in Marquinhos, altho0ugh apparently we had bids rejected for him last summer of upto 40m, I think he should be the long term DCB we're looking at.

Varane is a no go and Stones has a lot to learn, MArquinhos has at leaast played at a higher level than Stones so I'd prefer him over Stones and we've also got Zouma, so I'd be avoiding Stones at all cost.

Christensen scored an absolute cracker for a center back yesterday, he certainly looks the real deal. Would love to see him comeback next year and route himself and Zouma beside Terry.

Unfortunately Terry could be elsewhere next season which is an absolute disgrace
