How did they manage to get in like that so easy? Where was the defence? Poor decision making from Courtois too.

Lol. cahill is an absolute joke of a player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

What the actual **** Cahill and Courtois.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Was a foul though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,399 ✭✭✭✭ThunbergsAreGo

Clear foul for me there, hard done by, carzy few minutes.

    Chelsea have dominated

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Crackle

What the **** is going on? Should be out of sight but brainfarts at the back has Swansea ahead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,200 ✭✭✭hots

How is that not a free kickick?

Cahill could have been quicker alright but he was fouled. If he didnt foul him it's an easy back pass

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Crackle

Hazard?!?! Did he just pull out of that with the keeper?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,631 ✭✭✭✭Hank Scorpio

What is Hazard like? Pulled out of that challenge

Yeah it was a foul, but he shouldn't have got himself into that position in the first place.

    Oh you mad feckin' beauty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Fabregas really should be starting. I really don't think there is any need for Matic with Kante there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Cesc needs to start in games like this against massed defenses. Magic did nothing in 75 mins.

Kante does all the defensive work anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

That's two points dropped, Swansea are rubbish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    We were robbed simple as.

Marnier bottled the decision on Cahill its a f**king joke at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

He also bottled sending Amat off 30secs before their penalty.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Two minutes of madness from Courtois and Cahill cost us 2 points.

Terry picking up a dead leg as well ffs.

Hazard was v poor today. If Cesc had been on from the start we would have wrapped that game up by half time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

Poor decisions probably cost us 3 points, but last season we lost that game simply because we didn't have Kante. The man is a machine.

The Liverpool game should give us a gauge on where this team is at right now. Looking forward to it. We're at home, should be a great atmosphere under lights and hoping to hear abit of One Step Beyond at the final whistle!

The ref cost us. It was a foul on cahill and amat should have been off.

Mariner such a smug c*nt. Laughed in Cahill's face when he said it was a foul.

Swansea kicked us around the park, should have been down to 10 but those decisions don't always get given.

We only have ourselves to blame though, didn't take our chances in the first half. Same old story really.

Just happy we didn't lose, but we were still robbed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,419 ✭✭✭cowboyBuilder

Not the worst tho, glad Costa is scoring again and the Chelsea of 12 months ago would have lost that game ..

I think City will run away with it tho this year...

    :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Crackle

Ref was poor but Chelsea caused their own problems today. At 1-0 up, there's no way Swansea should be in with such ease on a counter. Courtois didn't cover himself in glory with either goal and as for Cahill, he might have made Conte's decision regarding Luiz easy for Friday night.

Saying that, Terry looked hurt at the end. We may have a nightmare scenario of a backline containing Ivanovic, Luiz and Cahill.

The refs are awful as a rule. We need to not put ourselves in a position to get fcuked by them. That game should have been killed by half time.

RE the second goal it might be a foul but how many times does Cahill put himself in stupid positions under pressure.

Luiz needs to come in ASAP while Zouma recovers. At least we have the full week to prepare for Liverpool. I'm sick of Cahill backpedalling against any sort of pace.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭Garzorico

There was a lot of wasted chances up front today. If Oscar can polish up on his shooting he will be class in this formation, always available for the shot/arriving late into the box. Costa needs to concentrate on his attacking in these games against teams we are head and shoulders above. Fair enough if it's one of the big boys but anyone else - not so sure his talents are best put to that. We need a decent midfield finisher to push on to top 4 level.

    At least we didn't loose.

Decisions have a way of evening themselves out, Costas 2nd goal should be a free out for dangerous play, foot at head height, Fabregas luck not to concede at the death, look at his face as he looks up, he is expecting a penalty to be awarded. On a funny note, Terry looked like he was hit by a sniper at the end.
Swings and roundabouts lads, it will all even itself up over the season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

In fairness to Cahill he made a potentially goal saving challenge at the end and was fouled for the goal too. Would rather see Luiz still but can't wait until Zouma is back.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Crackle

Another thing which has bothered me so far is how late Conte leaves substitutions. Fair enough there was a few minutes delay getting play stopped so Batshuayi could come on but would still have been in the last few minutes.

He's not quite at Gus' level for stupid subs made late (plus his seem to make an impact on the game), but I feel he could be quicker to change things. Like Fabregas could have come on much earlier for Matic for example.

On the evidence of this season that's a perfectly legitimate goal.
Koscielny and Gestede scored identical ones this weekend alone and their follow through nearly took out the defenders.

At least the refs are consistent in that regard...

Still does'nt make it the correct decision though.

Terry landed really badly on his left ankle, hopes he's not damaged it, it really did bend a hell of a lot.
Also think cortouis was unlucky, he was right to come out initially but the ball spun away changing its original trajectory leaving him with little option, there's only millimetres in him getting the ball or not getting it.

Glad you are amused, if you are up to date with the laws of the game it was a foul, foot at head height equates to a foul if in zone of the head, but a lol response means it not, LOL!!!!.

That's fair enough but there's more than likely been some BS referee directive to let them stand after 1 got ruled out harshly for Cameron Jerome last year v Palace.

Trouble is we never hear about until there's another controversy.

There was no contact before he hit the ball, have a read up there.

Its not about contact its about the position of the foot in relation to the head, Read up there, thanks.

They weren't in the same zone, defender hasn't attempted to head the ball before he made contact.

Actually they were, its not about whether he attempted to head it or not, its about the position of the foot in relation to the head. But as I said in my original post, all these decisions tend to even themselves out over the season.

    I disagree.

And saying decisions even out is a cop out, they don't.

OK, we can agree to disagree. Its not a cop out, it happens every year. Do you think Fabregas was lucky? Iv'e seen them awarded.

Not even close. Swansea were very lucky to get away with a point. Having the 12th man helped them a lot.

Another black mark against Courtois. Poor judgement. Awkward. I fear he's not going to become the indispensible keeper we thought we were getting. He's developing a tendency to concede penos and get red cards. He was a whisker away from one today.

Cahill shouldn't have been caught out like that. Conte obviously wants his defenders to play the ball out of defence, but there were a couple of kamikaze howlers across the back line, including Kante, and the one to Cahill.

I'd be confident about UCL qualification. But dropping points like that suggest we're not going to be in the running for the EPL.

Well Cahills gonna get a slap from the FA.

Hes posted the video of the foul on him on his twotter and then said incredible with a few angry faces.

Hes right though, it was a shocking call and ultimately robbed us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,358 ✭✭✭kev1.3s

regardless of the referees poor decision making we should have had enough to win today, I think conte left it to late with his changes. Fabregas should be finding his way into that team more regular, there was a marked improvement in ball distribution when he came on.
To say that referee decisions work themselves out is a rubbish, we were kicked off the park today and Swansea should have been reduced to 10 seconds before the penalty incident and I really cannot understand how a professional referee missed Fer kicking the legs off Cahil.

We should have but when the refs 2 clear mistakes leads to goals against us theres nothing much more you can do other than feel robbed.

Agree 100% on cesc, theres no need for Matic in there with Kante fit and performing like he is. We have to drop cahill anyway for luiz he wouldnt have dwelled on the ball like cahill today and would have made a big point about the legs being kicked off him.

    And Kante should stop shooting!

7 - No player has suffered more fouls in a single Premier League game this season than Diego Costa (7) has against Swansea.

    Victim.
