Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Palace are second to every ball, losing possession all over the place.

Looks a different player since Jose got the boot.

This is more like it. Costa in particular. No bollox acting, no reacting, just getting on with it.

    Even mikel has impressed.

I think it's a case of giving the players who've produced this performance a chance to enjoy it.

At least he isn't afraid of the rain and cold and is staying on the pitch not walking straight to the dressing room.

I don't know what Mikel had in his cornflakes but he was as good as I have ever seen him play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Happy with the 3pts.

Was weird seeing us not pick up 1 yellow though. Friend left a lot go.

Hazard can feck off too. Pedro at least tried when he was on. Willian is a banker to be our POTY.

Good to see costa scoring and his overall play improving a lot too.

    Oh and zouma was immense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Mikel actually was very good too :o

    Mikelele.....ha

Team looked hungry (after a fashion) today. Delighted to see it. And Costa concentrating on what he does best. Judging by Hiddinks post match interview he seems to be saying that the players are putting in a bit of effort compared to what they had been - I reckon he put a rocket up their collective rear ends when he came in.

2 wins 2 draws since he arrived - I'd have taken that.

Hopefully Oscar is playing his way into a mpve away to Juventus.

Zouma is going to be an absolute monster for us, his tackling is outstanding.

Very good performance today, Mikel was excellent.

Im glad we got zouma for 12m when we did. The way prices for any decent CB is going we'd have to pay 3 times that if we wanted him in the coming years.

We could have scored another 2 or 3 but the 3-0 was deserved alright.

Everyone played well and some were very good, think willian, costa and mikel were nesr perfect.

    Cesc was good too.

Id still sell him, hes had 2 good games this year, well thats 2 more than Hazard but id sell Oscar if Juventus want him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Weve got 3 home games coming up.

    Scunthorpe wba and everton.

Get another 3 wind and were sorted.

The youngsters and fringe players have to play vs scunthorpe, id be playing :

    Begovic
    Azp Cahill Papy D Rahman
    Ramires RLC
    Traore Cesc Kenedy
    Remy

Colkett should be involved, that instagram post of him during the week showed he was given the number 41, surely they wouldn't give him a number if they weren't planning on using him at some stage soon

See how Oscar does with a different role before selling him. He's been bad this year but it's hard to do well in his role when the whole team is failing.

I think some of the criticism of Hazard is a bit much too. You can't play through a calf strain. People forgetting that he dragged us to the title last season. After 3 excellent seasons people want him out after 1 bad half season.

Jay Dasilva got a squad number too i think.

Theyll probably be involved in someway.

We should beat Scunthorpe pretty easy too with the fringe players.

Oscars been the biggest disappointment for me, he has 1 good game in about 10 poor games. Hes been like that throughout his time here.

Hazard is different, hes looked like he has no interest sonce the first kick of a ball in august. I only want rid of him coz it looks like he has no interest being here.

If thats the case, then theres nothing can be done about it

Good stuff. Hopefully it will continue. Maybe I'll take some of em off my list of castaways :-D

I'm in the camp where I'd like to see Oscar moved on at this stage. He has been given enough time and opportunity to prove himself.

In reality he never has been able to make his mark on the team.

Even last year, he was ok at the start of the season then vanished the second half.

Bitter sweet that Costa is improved- why he couldn't play like that with Mourinho?

I wish we knew the full story there...

Give it a year maybe one of em will have a book out for Xmas where it will tell all.

I'd rather cesc out then Oscar. I'd give Oscar the rest of the season to prove himself , it looks to me like he's hitting form.

He didn't get a fair chance under Jose either tbh.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

Would hold fire a little, good win but against a depleted Palace team. It was lovely to see Costa trying to play football and Mikel can actually play good Lord. Ivan is still a liability Zaha should have scored when 0-1 with Ivan playing well it looked almost left wing. He has no pace it is quite obvious he has no discipline neither he will continue to cost us points.
Willian Dave and Happy continue to be our most consistent players and two clean sheets on the trot will make TBo happy.
Would also hold fire on Hazard regarding injury think he is, obviously picked up something at "and Leicester" and it has not been caught MRI he is scheduled to have hopefully will help.
17 more points and we should be safe anyway.

One thing I never got is why Oscar was never played deep where Cesc was. One of the major criticisms of Cesc is his inability to defend, Oscar as we know can defend. Willian could have played centrally as well if he wanted someone to press from the no10 role.

Not to put a dampener on things ,Palace were without Bolasie and Cabeye today which made things a little easier.

We got to play them at a good time.
