Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not sure there's much point starting a match thread for this because of the absolute state of this site over the last few days...it'll probably disappear or some thing. Anyway...

Liverpool face the long march across Stanley Park with pitchforks in hand to face neighbours and lovable rogues Everton, who,we're being told have had a great start to the season while Liverpool are having an horrendous start. There's 1 point between them so I'm not exactly sure how that works but anyway...

Here's a nice video of them trying to kill each other down through the years.

Im going to state what most football fans are thinking weather you like LFC or not

Liverpool to lose. Rodgers getting sacked in the morning.

The derby game is next to impossible to predict and it has been like that for years. Usually both teams rise for a fight regardless of current form.

As for Rodgers.....he will be gone soon. One game, win or loose, will make sod all difference. Home fans booing him, dropping attendances, general fan apathy toward him. That is what will remove him.

Form book goes out the window etc etc

2-1 Liverpool, Sturridge and Coutinho, lots of moaning about Rodgers etc etc etc

Can will get himself sent off, he gets wound up in big games

Good call. I could definitely see that happening.

Can to take over the Gerrard role by getting sent off.

    Sturridge to score.

Coutinho to destroy most of goodison as shot after shot go wide/over.

Hit sure about anything on the Everton side bar Barkley being my choice as motm.

If Martinez has any kind of footballing brain he will have Deulofeu flinging cross into the box for Lukaku to attack. We cannot defend set pieces for sh1t so I'd expect at least one goal to come from this route.

Id fancy Sakho to be able to handle Lukaku in the air.

I can't wait for this game today,
I'm quietly confident and time for our big game players to perform.
    Liverpool win 2-1 (Sturridge, Skrtel)
This will be the win to give Rodgers some breathing space
    YNWA :)

Coutinho is odds on to get 6 balls back to anfield before ht.

Can see a 1-1 here today, I don't think Brendan knows what to do anymore, his day are most certainly numbered.

Really need to beat this lot today. My laptop won't survive another Brendan Rodgers OutstandingTM performance.

2-1 to Liverpool ( Danny and Danny )

Either way, no matter the result, this should be Rodgers last game in charge of the club. Too many other clubs could be making a manager switch soon and we don't want to miss out.

Nice vid Kerrigooney, The players should be shown that before the game.

While it's been grim watching Liverpool matches this season, I've come over all optimistic for today. 1-3 and Danny dancing.

    Come on you redmen.

    He couldn't handle gestede

I'm seeing rumours that Coleman and Stones are out today. That'll help.

Impossible to know, Everton often poo their pants in the derby game but they will certainly go into this one in better overall shape. Hard to see a 0-0 so I'll go with 1-1, or 3-2 to Everton or 3-2 to Liverpool or 2-2 or.....:o

Gestede is better in the air than Lukaku.

Along with telling Lukaku to bully the sh1t out of Can.

Everton have won 1 of the last 17 and 3 of the last 31 derby games. I can see them improving on that record today, but hopefully not.

Didn't think they were that poor in the derby, how many draws in that?

    Same team as last week

LFC team v @Everton: Mignolet, Skrtel, Sakho, Can, Clyne, Moreno, Lucas, Milner, Coutinho, Ings, Sturridge

#LFC subs v @Everton: Bogdan, Gomez, Rossiter, Allen, Ibe, Lallana, Origi

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Liverpool have Evertons number in the Derby in recent years but Everton go into the game in much better form obviously.

Hard one to call. Sturridge a available again for Liverpool is huge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,064 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

    No stones or Coleman unfortunately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,184 ✭✭✭Gavlor

    Stones and Coleman out.

I'd take a draw now. Naismith starts along with 2 19 year old full backs and a dodgy South American centre half.

Rodgers is probably toast even with a win if the chatter is correct so a loss with the int break is surely the end.

Everton should be capitalising on Liverpool's dismal form. With Lukaku back, I can see it being 2-1 / 3-1 to them.

If a 6-1 defeat at the end of a poor season and dismal run doesn't see it happen, I just don't see what causes him to be sacked.

If that's Can in a back 3 or 5, he absolutely will get the mickey taken out of him. He's due an absolute, out-and-out humiliation at centre-half.

Win lose or draw today, the liverpool players will still have "great character"

    Hopefully Barkley/Lukaku destroys Skrtel

    very likely

For a team like liverpool who want to be a big team, he is not good enough.

Its laughable that he is still yer main center back

Hard one to call, cant see either team keeping a clean sheet. I can see Liverpool's disappointing form continue and Everton to win 2-1
