Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cat carrier boxes

Is there anywhere in Dublin that you can hire carrier boxes for cats?

We have 3 cats that we have just adopted from a neighbour who is no longer able to care for them, but we are also moving to the country in a few weeks.
It's going to be a big upheaval for all involved, so want to keep them as secure as possible when actually moving.

Why not buy at least one and be done with it? You'll need at least one for journeys to the vet etc..
And the shop where you buy may advise you on renting.

Most pet shops and vet clinics have them, you might be better off just to buy some like feargale said. You will need one for vet visits. Trust me, vets really dislike when someone arrives in for routine appointments carrying the cat in their arms.

TBH op just buy one. You'll need them for vet visits etc and at least if it's the same one there's a chance (however small) that they'll get used to it. They're not particularly expensive if you just want a bog standard one.

I also cannot stress enough how great Feliway products are for helping cats to settle in a new environment and keeping everything calm.

Have a look at the usual 2nd hand websites - donedeal and adverts - I saw some on there a while back for €10

Thanks all for the recommendations, gonna buy one I'll need it anyway in the future and can borrow one off a friend. I'll move them in 2 lots

If you get a big enough one you could probably keep them together for the move which would be a lot less stressful for them as they know each other already. It'll mean they're not all on their own, suddenly with a new person, in a a new carrier, in a new car, going to a new place. They'll comfort each other if you can manage to keep them together. At least I'd have thought so.

We use a large canvas one with a top and front opening for our 4 and I highly recommend a top opening carrier, it's much easier to pop them in the top than trying to get them in the front of a standard size plastic cat carrier. What we have is a medium size dog one we got on Amazon, no shortage of them there.

If the cats are pals, I'd echo the idea of moving them together.
