Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Used a foam roller when I was training for the Belfast City Marathon a few years back. Had problems with my IT Band, and it saved me. Best 20 or 30 Euro I ever spent, use it every day to stretch and release any aches.

What type/brand would you recommend using ?

Starting Tabata tomorrow for a few weeks. Looks like absolute torture.

All at work but we do 2 classes of pilates and one circuit training class and I find the pilates are fantastic.
I have come from a lot of back issues and a back op then hip issues and core problems and with 12 classes behind me I am finding a lot of improvement. I have the Giro de Galway this weekend (373km) so that will test it big time

USF Foam Roller 5"x13" Black, got mine from Elverys for 30 Euro. Has a red middle and looks like a brute of a thing, but it worked wonders for me. Best of luck with it!!!

If you have a friend who is a farmer, ask him for the plastic cylinder that's in the middle of a roll of silage wrap.

    Best foam roller I've used.

Trigger point is the branded model lot would say its too soft though and a wavin pipe works best! I use a two litre mineral bottle filled with water and frozen. Leave room for expansion.

Probably don't do enough maintenance work really only when I've a knot from a cramp to work out.

I go to the gym twice a week at work. I have a very basic and simple program, 10km distance on the spin bike (interval program usually) 3km on treadmill and 1500m on the rowing machine. Shower.

I'm doing spin circuits, where the exercises between the spinning sections are all core focused. I find it really tough, but also really good.
I've also just started Pilates, the instructor is a physiotherapist and really knows his stuff. Please don't do Pilates with a mass crowd in a gym. You need someone that will take the time to make sure you are doing the moves properly.
Then I'm getting out for one 70/80k spin at the weekend. This will be the shape of my training over the winter.
