Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I am thinking about getting phone/internet and TV with Virgin ( UPC ), I am a current UPC/Virgin customer for TV and eircom for phone.
Does anyone know if/when virgin will supply new boxes - I don’t want to upgrade and end up with an old crappy box.

Just looking for any advice, or peoples experience, I know the virgin thing is very new, but perhaps someone has done what I am thinking of doing.

Word on the ground is that Virgin will be sticking with the Horizon platform, the EPG will just be reskinned in the near future. So if you go for a triple-play with them now you'll get the same Horizon box.

Are you just a standard analogue customer at present?

we have the digital value pack, so the standard channels + HD free ones. Current box is fine and so is the remote, records fine too.
But the though of switching to a new box that also controls the internet just makes me worried ( re: hassle, and re educating all the house on how to "solve" problems ), but eircom+upc is more expensive than triple upc.

Anyone know when Virgin might release some introductory offers?

Myou don't have to get horizon, there are packages that have all 3 services with a modem and without horizon.

Thanks for all the replies, would anyone be able to post or link to what this Horizon menu is like ? I have just heard so many things about it I would like to see how its menu works but cannot seem to see anything online.

Best thing would be to go into somewhere like arnotts or carphone warehouse, or the upc shop, currys etc where you can actually try the box out in person.

The UPC shop ? where do you find that ? I have never seen a UPC box in the wild. Only ever seen the sky one locked behind glass.
