    Hi Guys,

I am looking at building a desktop for my sister for editing photographs, adobe photo shop, animations, editing video, sound etc. She is just finished college so budget has been capped at €1200.

I have built a desktop before but made a few mistakes along the way so thought it best to ask advice on parts before sending any kind of order through.

She is apprehensive about windows 8/10, are these to be avoided or embraced for what her application is?

We have an extra monitor for a dual screen setup also.

Would really appreciate any advice or help you might have.

    Cheers,
    Rob

Well regards to windows why not get 7. She can upgrade to 10 test it out. If she likes keep if not revert back.

I think 10 is the dogs bollocks but that's just me

    Xeon 1231v3 €250
    H81M board €50
    16gb DDR3 €80
    400w PSU €50
    GTX750 €100
    120gb SSD €60
    Case €50
    2tb WD Red €90
    Total €830 I think

    Worth jumping to Skylake?

    Say cpu xeon 1231 v3.. 250 euro

    Mobo asrock b 85 pro.. 68 euro

Ram 16 gigs crucial ballistic.. 85 euro

    Psu be quiet 7 500 59 euro

Case Nanoxia deep silence 3.. 69

    Ssd 250 bx 250..81

Hdd Western digital blue 2tb... 78

    Get a portable Hdd. Say 60 for a 2tb

    Thats 682

    Up to 250 for gpu

200 for a monitor. Then Windows etc

Ha same ish as digitals. Skylake will add near 250 onto that.

Sorry for the delay guys. I had issues logging in again for some reason. Really appreciate the quick responses. I will have a look on Komplett for those parts now.

Good point about the upgrade from 7. Might give that a whirl. By the way, what is skylake?

Intel's newest chipset. Not much faster than Haswell
