Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New kitten, ear mites

So, despite saying two is enough, there will be no more cats we have a new kitten, Willow ( saw her little face in a picture and couldn't resist...). Big cats adjusted surprisingly well, bit of hissing on day one, by day two she was accepted, I was expecting weeks of introductions! Biggest cat still a bit peeved but just ignoring her and giving me evils.
Poor willow came with some visitors, a bad infestation of ear mites. We've had big cats treated with preventative stuff and have been dutifully washing and treating her little ears, on week three now and all discharge and itching seems to be gone... However, I've noticed she doesn't respond much to noise, the others jump if a car backfires etc but no response from her. Is this just normal kitten obliviousness or has anyone ever heard of mites damaging a cats hearing permanently?
Due back at vet next week for check up and I'll get them to check her ears out, but wondering in meantime if anyone has any experience of mites affecting hearing?
