Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"Capsule" Coffee and Stomach Issues

I was just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences.

I like coffee a lot but was finding it directly linked to some stomach issues I was having. I decided to cut back on my intake and stop using my Nespresso machine entirely as I felt this was particularly irritating my system. Since I've stopped using the Nespresso machine I've had no digestive issues.

Today, for the first time in months I had a coffee from a Costa Express machine and it almost immediately had a negative impact!

Is there something in these capsules or coffee systems that might be irritating me or is it just a coincidence?

I thought maybe the coffee/espresso machines in cafes etc. are brewing a purer cup of coffee and perhaps cleaner and better maintained than my Nespresso machine. I also thought there might be something in the capsules themselves that doesn't agree with me.

    Any thoughts?

Gave up coffee about a year ago because of stomach issues. At the same time cut back on really hot food which had a similar affect. Did notice that I can get away with drinking some coffee with no ill effects but that's rare and the symptoms don't make it worth testing which ones are OK.

    Hi there,

Coffee shouldn't be causing you any sort of discomfort so I would recommend a trip to the doctor to discuss your symptoms. We're not qualified to advise you here. Hope you get back to yourself and enjoying a good coffee soon.

    Take care.
