Slightly off topic but the amount of parking tickets being given out today was huge do people think the wardens arent working with most of town closed??

New Frozen Pop and Ice Cream place opening soon next to Brown Thomas in the former Newsagent in the former Lee Cinema.

Ginos has been very popular since they opened. Obviously trying to tap into that captive market

I was in the city today and felt I was the only person down on Dyke Parade with a parking disc up. Did see some cars had some spray paint damage as well as some vulgar graffiti near pres.

On the huck truck, decided to give it a go and I don't think I would bother again. It seems to be a replica of the Dinky Donuts place that are often at the Christmas markets on Grand Parade. 6 euro for seven 'donuts' and a little bit of sauce I can't say is great value for money at all.

It's great to see snow enforcement.
Now, if only they'd take on all the parking on footpaths, both 2 wheels and 4 wheels!

They should focus on loading bays also, the amount of private cars that park in them during designated loading tines is ridiculous.

As a former delivery driver, I wholeheartedly agree.

Not an opening or closing, but a new delivery option from Shandon Sweets.

They are offering delivery (€6.95) on a limited range of their products.

There was a pretty major fire there last year.
Good to see them up and running again.

Pity the guy who runs it is a horrible person, or at least was when we lived next to it.

Wonder what this will be? Assume it'll be something to do with Debenhams unit maybe?

Custom House tower appeal was to be announced yesterday, maybe it's that. Final approval would be a big deal - assuming it goes ahead. Lots of approved developments sitting in never-never land currently.

I think it is planned to include some retail (in the warehouse element); but it's not what he's referring to. I misread his tweet, sorry.

That's great if true, I assumed it was going to be the Savoy, which given its upgrade will almost certainly be filled anyway. The Victoria Hotel long muted retail conversion would have been an even more glamorous option!

Isn't this what they were planning for ages to do anyway? Or have they added even more?

No. Same old regurgitated plans that were announced a few years ago.

Just a rehash of the same Penney's expansion story from the last few years.

Just fishing for clicks then if that's all it is.

While it's the same plans the announcement seems to be that it is actually going to start. They mention hiring Sisk to construct. It's not that exciting but it's not nothing either.

Seems like this has been announced 10 times over the past decade. No planning permission yet means nothing will happen for ages.
