Is it just me but I don't bother going to the side of the centre, I go upstairs from Debenhams and just keep to the right.

We normally park I the Debenhams car park. I walk through the ground floor.
Pop into most mens wear places for a few seconds. I walk in and out fairly fast. I'd know fast if I liked something.
Then onto level one and back to Debenhams.
I can do the place so fast it would scare some shoppers.

Dorothy Perkins appears to be opening in Mahon.
I'd say it will go into the last of the units they've done up.

Could that be just for a concession in Debenhams?

Arcadia seem to be reducing their store estate across the UK and Ireland at the moment. They are surrendering leases when they can. The DP store on Patrick Street is up for lease at the moment. The store is still open but it is being offered advertised on Daft to let by way of assignment/sublet.

FatFace on Princes Street has signs up saying that it is closing on March 15th. So another retail unit should become available to rent soon on that street.

    .

Going by the job notices I've seen. It looks like a store but I could be wrong.

I wonder if the shop in town is closing?
Was in there the other day and it felt dilapidated.

I have no idea to be honest. I don't know much about it apart from it's a woman clothes shop and they opened one in Clonmel in the last few years.

Oh nice one for Cork Coffee Roasters. They always seem busy in both locations tbf.

Took a stroll into the new Sports Direct/Brandmax in Blackpool (Heatons). Some spruce up they have done. The dingey cheapness of Heatons is completely washed away. Seems to be a good selection of clothes as well. Prices aren't great though.

Its a bit TK Maxx ish now. Which is definitely a good thing.

They've done the same with a lot of there stores.
Personally I found a lot of it over priced. Cheaprer on M&M Direct for a few things I knew about.
There was an okay selection of stuff on bargain rails but I didn't look at them properly tough.
There was a small section similar to Heatons.
I heard of a lot of disappointed Heatons fans and the store was very quiet before Christmas.

Do they accept Heaton’s gift vouchers does anyone know?

From what I see Heaton's seem to be dropped from their name.
You'd have to ask in store I'd say. I'd be off loading them as soon as possible.

I meant to use it around Christmas but just never got around to it. Funny thing is that even though it’s Heatons on the voucher it’s in a sports direct branded voucher holder which makes me think that it will be accepted (not much basis for thinking it I know).

The Rising Tide has opened back up in Glounthaune. No sign of them doing food as yet . . .

Looks like Loving Salads on Washington St has bit the dust, called there occasionally for lunch but it's been closed for the last week or two & looks stripped inside.

Is their other store still open?

Their other store is definitely still open I'd say - I think it does a way better trade than the one on Washington Street, simply because the salads are already made up in there. Although I was never in the one on Washington Street, it never looked busy when I passed.

There still is, usually go there when I don't want to end up gorging on fast food.

Very similar to the salads sold by the Real Olive co in the English Market.

This list was posted by PROC - http://www.peoplesrepublicofcork.com/articles/more-than-20-new-business-open-since-panaban

Are they missing anything? I think some of these predate the Panaban era (Dali is there longer, isn't it? And O'Sho?) but it's a nice summary!

Edit: Also not buying Dwyers or Crawford & Co as they were rebrands of what was there previously, rather than a new business as far as I'm aware.
List of businesses that have opened since or just before the Panaban that are still open:

    1. Ninja Sushi, the donut fad has
    2. Istanbul Barbers on North Main St.
    3. Pink Moon Café on Washington Street
    4. Vila Cork opened just as the first Pana ban came into force
    5. Gino’s Gelato’s, Oliver Plunkett Street
    6. Sailnger on Drawbridge Street
    7. Bark and Bumble, dog café
    8. Bookshelf Café at the Elysian
    9. One Life Gym just off Pope’s Quay on Mulgrave Road
    10. Café Torino, Washington St.
    11. Crawford & Co, Anglesea Street
    12. O’Sho on Barrack Street
    13. Dwyers of Cork
    14. Burnt, Prince’s Street
    15. Oak Fire Pizza, Prince’s Street
    16. Bocelli’s, Maylor Street
    17. Dali, Carey's Lane

Announced and about to open soon:
    18. Nano Brewery at Thompson House
    19. FLYEfit gym on Oliver Plunkett Street
    20. Louis Copeland on Academy Street
    21. Mountain Warehouse on Patrick Street
    22. Joe’s and Bro’s in Winthrop Arcade
    23. Cork Coffee Roasters on Anglesea Street
    24. Penny’s extension on Prince’s St.

    And:
    25. to 40,000. All the Eyebrow Places

Ginos & Bark & Bumble were open during the summer before the PanaBan came into effect I'm fairly sure

Love the eyebrowbar comment at the same time :D

They were - I think they are tracking from Pana Ban 1 last April!

Fudi & More (currently at Eden Hall near CIT) are opening a second restaurant in Douglas. Not sure which unit they're taking.

Douglas is badly in need of a new restaurant... Not!

Fudi is more kind of a delivery service. They deliver anything from toilet roll and lynx to chinese and chicken rolls. It works really well for college students but I wonder how well they will do in Douglas.

They'd have to deliver stuff from M&S!
