Ninja sushi bento appears to be open again.
I'd love to know what went on there.

Salad box in Douglas closed last week. Was probably too niche. Loved their salads.

They were on Facebook last week saying they were celebrating there first birthday in Douglas. It may have closed fairly fast.

Loving salad seems to do very well, always packed.

The one on Washington Street didn't last long.

I regularly use Douglas shopping centre and would have loved to try that salad place. The problem is, each time I'm there, I have a salad - hating small child with me. So we end up with an overpriced sandwich each in the M&S cafe, both of us comprising but neither particularly happy.
If there was a shared eating area where I can have my salad and him his non green food, it would probably do well.

Do they still have the sushi counter out front?

From what I can tell (haven't physically been in there), they don't seem to actually be doing sushi anymore. Advertising 'ninja bento' with meat, veg, sauce etc

Bummer , i only went in for a mix of sushi. I suspect most people did. Can't see it lasting very long without a sushi option.

Hopefully the proposed relaxing of the planning for Patrick street will see more of the empty units being occupied.

El Vino in Douglas is closing and the Cotton Ball, to be called Thomspons Victorian Microbrewery, on MacCurtain St is opening soon

That's a pity about El Vinos. It's always busy too.

Just a note on El Vino, I passed today and there's a sign in the window saying they're just closed for renovations and they'll be open again soon. Didn't give any time frame though.

Anyone know what the story is with the gym on Oliver Plunkett Street. It's been shut for over a month. Sign on door says problem with power but surely it wouldn't take that long to get sorted.

Sorry if this is a repeat question.

Flyefit seem to be pretending the Cork branch doesn't exist and are ignoring all related queries. Sounds like they've made a balls of it.

Isn't that what they've been doing for the last 1-2 years?

This is different, Ed O'Leary and Joe Kelly from The Good Room are taking it over, it's a proper investment. They do a load of live stuff across Cork including St. Peters

They’re the lads behind Live at St Lukes so the new Kino should be top notch.
