HDMI on TV from laptop poor quality

    Folks,
    I have a BUSH 32 inch TV from Argos...my issue is the quality of picture when I connect it from laptop HDMI is horrible...any suggestions ??

    Have you checked the output resolution in the "display" settings on the laptop. Usually hdmi is automatically set to hd or full hd by default, but it's worth a shot. The other resolution is get a better tv. Bush unfortunately is in the low end of TV manufacturers.

    Try a different cable, also have a look at HDMI settings in the TV and look for a 'PC mode'

    None there....probably low end TV is the issue...

    I'd guess that your TV is 720 rather than 1920

    Erm no... The standard hd formats are 480, 720, 1080 and 2160. I think you mean 1080(1920x1080) not 1920 ;)

    yes...I am using Chromecast and UPC horizon plusbox....

    I think with mine it was refresh rate. 60 instead of 50hz? Was messing with settings then fluked it.

    It's not video....entire screen once on TV...desktop etc...

    I think with mine it was refresh rate. 60 instead of 50hz? Was messing with settings then fluked it.


    Where can I check it ? Says 25 hz...in display properties...

    Play around with aspect ratio on TV, there is usually one setting for directly connected pc's.

    its at max....issue seems to be with something else...or just the Tv is not able to cop up !

    Ya did that already it changes size but quality is same...also animations on windows flicker at times...

    I would recommend you try dropping the resolution first. Some TVs just don't handle the full HD from a computer very well.
