Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Such a shame that O'Neill had to go and **** the bed with his team selection. If we somehow end up in the finals it will be in spite of him, not because of him.

There will be Steam coming out of Dunphy's Head now

=(:-) Me? I know who I am. I'm a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude (-:)=

Signs looking ominous so far :(

Really need to step it up in the second half. Wouldn't mind seeing Wes on for McClean

    Wes should have started tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Well time for Eamon to rant this would not happen i Wes was not on and o'Neill should be ired now for lieing

Dunphy is preparing his Partridge-esque post-match rant.

'Needless to say, I had the last laugh.'

O'Neill has to take responsibility here. Tactics are awful and we're giving the ball and space away all the time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Its a shame because poor defending hasn't really been all that common with Ireland in this group, but tonight theres been quite a few silly mistakes and bad decisions. Brady caught a few times and O'Shea well below par.

Get an actual left back on and push Brady forward, getting roasted down our left wing.

Without Wes and Brady in midfield we struggle to keep possession.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Very poor performance from us. Lucky to be down by 1.

Lewandowski is a diving git and unfortunately this ref is falling for it every time. If this continues I can see a player sent off in the second half. Changes need to be made to get a result though.

Whelan will be off by the 60th minute if he comes out after half-time.

Long has the beating of the 2 centre halves as well, need to get him into the game a lot more.

Is O'Shea incapable of marking someone without putting his arms around them?

If we don't make it tonight the playoffs will be a good buzz.

It's 0-0 now just go out and win the 2ND half 1-0 and we're through

Look at other games and see if they've done it before.

    Teach players to mark players.

Not Martin O'Neill's fault if players don't have a clue how to defend. The frustrating thing is defenders who did so well against Germany are playing like schoolboys against a poor team. I still believe its possible though as Poland's defence is equally bad.

    Mcarthy has been poor too.

Nothing changes we still need 1 goal to automatic qualify. Now if only our defence would improve lol

He's 32 from what I gather. But then Dunphy doesn't care for stats.

It was a stupid decision bringing in maclean and pushing Brady back. He had a good game against the Germans the other night and still couldnt hold down that spot on the wing. Mccarthy and hendrick are fairly anonymous and whelan adds nothing. Our entire midfield is brutal - gaps everywhere and it's putting the defence under savage pressure.

O neill has to make changes - the polish aren't great and they can be got at if we go about it the right way

Brady's attempt at pronouncing Krychowiak should go down in football punditry folklore. A true swing and a miss.

Whelan or O'Shea are going to get sent off in this game so they might as well do it by taking out Lewandowski.

Poland haven't looked great at the back, but our players simply are giving the ball away too easily. McClean is getting roasted down the left wing. I would like to see Wilson on and move Brady up.

Why is it Childish, a professional footballer getting paid x0,000 a week tells his international manager that he's too sore to start a game. Could he not take e pain killer?

What happens when if we get to the play off's, will Wes be only able to play one game again?

Appalling half from the referee. Not hopeful of an improvement from him in the second half. We'll be lucky to finish with 11.

We have to be just as cute as the Poles, if Lewandowski goes down our players should have a word in the ref's and Lewandowski's ear. Why not go down easily ourselves?
