The team put in a great shift on Thursday and follow it up with dross like tonight. The poles deserved the win. Not confident about the playoffs and that's before we even know who we are up against.

Great to be in a playoff but from the moment the team was named the result seemed inevitable.

The stupid cards at the end summed everything up.

Will be surprised if we qualify regardless of opposition.

Lewandowski is a cheat, that much is obvious. But John O'Shea was incredibly naive by how he played against him and put himself in the situation to get sent off. A player of his experience should know better.

Just one of those scrappy nights. Too many well below par performances from important players, Brady and O'Shea especially. Long coming off was a big blow too. Don't really want to see Whelan for a good while to be honest.

Saying all that, 1 goal away from qualifying automatically is a fair turnaround. For what its worth, I dont think Hoolohan starting would have made the big difference compared to the silly mistakes and poor, poor decisions.

What was doing my head in was it was every single time there was contact with him. It wasn't like he was through on goal for one incident or something. It was all over the pitch at the slightest contact.

Pretty much as expected. Think we came as close as we were going to get and if we were told at the start of the campaign we would be in the play-offs we would have taken it.

O'Shea missing could be a disaster but I don't think we will notice the loss of Walters too much. Problem with Ireland is they have no midfield, none at all. Nobody can play the ball and we really rely on kicking it up with little impact.

All depends on the draw now.

Sorry, I don't think it's just a scrappy night. O'Neill's set up and tactics were woeful.
