Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you realise just how naive that sounds? Managers, er, "distort the truth" all the time.

football managers lie all the time.

Give me a reason, after starting Hoolahan to great effect against Germany, why O'Neil would drop him.

can he not start and play 60 mins and then go off tired?
ward did not travel because he was not match fit,

I'm sure wes will not turn around and tell his club manager he's too tired, he'll start their next game no problem.
He hasn't played a game 3 days apart for Norwich since 2011. They manage him & know he can't play games so close together its common with players his age. Its not an old school mentality though so Giles & Dunphy don't know whats going on & fail to realise players are much better athletes now so u need to be near your best.

Shay given didn't travel, so Rob Elliot traveled to the team.

Let's say Wes comes on with 20 mins to go as 3rd sub, and breaks down with soreness - we play with 10 men - lets see how happy you are then?

    I'm happy? Good man.

there are no "spaces" on the bench.

Disappointed to see Christie dropped. Pity himself or Coleman can't play left back.

Not happy with Mcclean on the pitch. Red card waiting to happen. He'll be booked after 20 minutes.

How often do Norwich have important games 3 days apart?

I've seen Dunphy bully Darragh before. I think it was in relation to Noel King. But tonight Darragh was excellent. You could see Dunphy sitting there fuming with nowhere left to go. Fair play to Darragh.

Big game. Very big game. Think we'll lose because we're going defensive in a game where there is very little to lose for us. Pity we didn't just go full-out but maybe they'll surprise us.

As much as I like Shane Long...he's usually better coming from the bench so he'll need to be at his best today.

It's not said all the time man, when's the last time you saw him lose the head like that? Probably when he was suspended for doing something similar.

He just went on a bizarre rant over Hoolahan being dropped when the manager said he was injured! Why would O'Neil lie?

He's done stuff regularly like that and wasn't suspended. Lost the head a few years back and took his microphone off when he called Niall Quinn a weakling and spoke about some English journalist getting a girl pregnant. He wasn't suspended as he's tv gold for RTE.

If Ronnie Whelan's shíte commentary is the only negative about tonight I think we'll be doing well.

    Enjoy the game lads.

There's going to be a lot depending on the full-backs and their ability to create something. Outside of Brady and Coleman there's not a lot of enterprise there. The rest of the squad is functional without much finesse. A bit of magic from Seamus might be enough.

I feel this is going to be a really hard watch though with many nails being chewed in the final ten minutes.

    Come on Ireland.

Ah, no. Ronnie Whelan. Can they not sub in Jim at half time? Last thing I need is Ronnie's whiny voice if things aren't going well.

0-0 suits them and they always have a threat with Lewandowski on the field.

    Good times!

The lower framerate of the RTE player on iPad give the game an almost cinematic quality...

Totally agree Jim Beglin was our lucky charm against Germany, we don't need Whiny Ronnie!

McClean is ****ing ****e. He comes into games, runs at tired legs and commits a couple of good tackles. From the start he's useless. Two stupid fouls he's given away already.

Physical game alright, so far. Don't need to be getting any yellows.
