    Hi,

I am looking to purchase some wireless 5.1 surround sound speakers for the front room. The wifey has met half way (I can get surround sound speakers put only if they are wireless)!!!

I was looking at the JBL Cinema 510 (wired)

If I can get something similiar that is wireless and a little cheaper.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Hi Bobby, unfortunately there isn't really any systems that do wireless speakers, and particularly for surround sound, so we're a bit stuck on that one. The JBL pack is a great system, but as you say is wired. There used to be a KEF wireless transmitter system which would replace wiring for rears but I don't believe its still available, but also it was in the region of £400

    Hi,

I know its been a long time since I posted something back so sorry.

Could I use the following speakers for a 3.1 setup until I can afford the rears

    Centre:
     http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-12710-2000ci-wal.aspx

    Front L&R:
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201175-3010-walnut.aspx

    Or are they rear speakers?

Could you recommend a Amp with 4K upscaling  so I can use my Denon AVR x2000 with these speakers, Something similiar to the Denon I have just a little cheaper :-)

    Thanks BobbyT28

    Hi BobbyT28.

You could indeed use those speakers as a 3.1 setup without using rears.
The 3010 can be used as front speakers with no issues.

For the amp you could look at the Yamaha RXV679 which is currently priced at 449.99 Euro (Inc Delivery)
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201510-rxv679.aspx

Or the Denon AVRX2200 priced at 548.00 Euro (Inc Delivery)

    Hi Guy's,

Just wanted to thank you for the great service. Received a call on Sunday afternoon after placing the order for Q Acoustic 3010 and 3090c on Saturday night.

Received everything this morning. Brilliant service.

Just 2 questions, the 3090c is a little bigger than I expected and might not fit where I want it  to, can this center speaker be placed off to either side of the screen on its side (Standing)?! Not ideal but just wondering if anyone has done this before?

    Also,

What speaker cables would you recommend for these speakers (They are connecting into a Denon AVR X2000).

Was looking at the QED Profile Classic 79 Strand Speaker cable but would pay a little extra for better cable if you have any suggestions?

    Thanks again,
    BobbyT28

    Bobby,

thanks for the kind words and of course the Biz - its much appreciated!

Ideally you would place the AV Centre at ear level in the middle of the screen position - however in the real world this isn't always possible.

In the first instance its not a disaster to have the centre at a different level to the screen, not as good is putting the centre off to one side but to be fair the Audyssey correction on your AVRX2000 will actually compensate for this and you will get away with it - in terms of the actual speaker orientation I would not be concerned about that at all - if you are putting it on the floor you should try to isolate it from the floor itself, I know it sound naff, but Blu-Tack is excellent for this and honestly will really improve the overall sound.

On the speaker front Q Acoustics and QED are essentially the same Company so any QED Cable will work well - however if you are going for basic 79 Strand I would opt for the excellent Cambridge Audio Symphony 200 cable instead - its far superior - have a look here:
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-100101-symphony-200.aspx

Its normally £1.49 / €1.99 meter, but I'll do you a Boardie special at just €1.25/Meter

...however QA themselves recommend either the QED Micro White:
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-11552-micro.aspx

Which is €2.99/ Meter ( I can do a Boardie special at €2.60/mtr) - The Micro White is excellent if space is tight as its a really skinny cable but it is really high quality and delivers a detailed accurate sound.

If you want to go the whole hog the QED Silver Anniversary is plain superb:
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-100619-silver-anniversaryxt.aspx
    (£6.5 / €8.99 mtr) Boardie deal €7.49/Mtr..

Aircore technology, completely transparent sound and huge depth and bass - Unless you go up to Audioquest Type 4 - I don't think there is a better cable!

Sorry for waffling on - but you know where we are if we can assist in any way :)

    Thanks again,

    ATVB,

Thanks for all the info. I was looking at the QED Micro white as the smaller the cable the better (have to please the wife!) Leave it with me and i'll have a think about it.
